Edit: D'oh! Which you have already seen and commented on.
Ping usually has little to do with the server itself and mostly to do with the route between the server and the user. Different users will have different pings because the routes between the server and the different users will be different. What is a bad server for one person could well be a...
So when my salvage beams do not fire because I foolishly mounted them facing in a direction other than forwards, they are in fact firing but firing in a direction I cannot see?
The fact that computers must face forward if one's weapons are to fire (forward), is one of those niggly bits of information the lack of which stymie newbies no end. Recently I was informed that it is not that computers need fo face forward in order to fire, but that computers need to face in...
I enjoy using certain defensive effects and for a good while, put them on turrets as well. I was then informed that the AI will not use defensive effects and all such blocks were wasted. Is there a way to use logic to activate such defensive effects so that they work despite the AI not using...
Missile/beam (sniper missiles) are absolutely fabulous weapons to put on turrets. The turret AI will do the slow process of getting lock on and firing, and the fact that they are tracking missiles means that they do not suffer from the usually atrocious accuracy of AIs. Swarm/heatseeker missiles...
Still waiting (impatiently) for the rest of the day one fights, let alone the day two fights.
I know, I am pressing a community member(s) to work harder and faster, when you are not paid for this and are giving us free stuff out of the goodness of your heart. But I have found 'very' little...
What I would like to see is how you set up weapons to fire with logic circuits as opposed to the hotbar. You did in your Starside tournament ship something I have wanted to do for weeks but had no idea how to accomplish. I was unaware if it was even possible to fire a weapon with logic (likely...
My biggest handicap with my system is that I am running a 32 bit OS (Windows Vista). A 32 bit OS will only allow 1024 meg (1 gig) to be allocated to memory for this game, and that is 'not' enough for large ship encounters.
Would it not be possible to change the logic such that it is always on, save the blueprint that way, then spawn the ship as a pirate for testing? Obviously this would 'only' be for testing it as an AI ship, but it should work.
A battleminer is a ship with a specific role, it is a salvage/mining ship that operates independently but is able to defend itself from pirates (which on some servers can be much stronger than native) and equally sized PvP attack. Just because a ship is not intended to function with a fleet does...
I would have liked to see how Drakkart's 'Scimitar' would have fared against this swarm. He had a really good set of point defense turrets, among other things.
Battleminers, must completely digest a 4K asteroid before firing any weapons or venturing into the battlezone. A ship that digests faster can gain position near the station and if much faster than the opposition, fire before the other may. Similar weight to the existing competition, something a...
Some sort of cannon system can be useful for getting pirate stations to summon pirates for you and such (autocannon can be be good for this, doesn't even need to be particularly powerful). It also gives you something to do while your turrets fight your battles for you. You could install a large...
