Implemented Adjacnet logic for rail dockers

Simple: Have the rail dockers activate adjacent activation modules and buttons. Useful for airlocks and drones. Also allow us to undock the rail dockers by sending a high signal.

Needed recommendations for the up coming Shipyards

Agree. The devs have stated that finite cargo is planned, this isn't OP. I would like it, certainly. Thought: It is commonly stated that with shipyards will come a nerf to build mode outside the shipyard. What if I want to work on a larger ship?

I was thinking maybe it would add an additional effect on top of the damage. So I could have ION ammo that does an additional 5% shield damage on top of the normal weapon damage -and whatever effect is in the blocks-, but that ammo costs more to make.

Well I do want NPC factions to be able to claim stuff. But no, the entire galazy should not be red at the start. In "wild" systems there should be maybe 5 or 10 stations, all clustered into a corner or along an edge of the system. And maybe they do claim entire systems, but definitely not all of...

What were you thinking as a reason to for bonuses? I don't think pirate stations are a good idea as the pirates are a faction and I think having this work for all factions, include NPC ones, is a good idea.

I believe Sparten's suggestion is that the ammo replace all energy consumption, with the additional possiblity of a few different boosts. Also for anyone who says ammo for laser weapons is unrealistic, laser weapons currently in development use chemicals that have to be swapped each time it fires.

      Interdiction - No escape!

Yeah, I'm gonna agree. Area interdiction should be much harder than targeted interdiction, whether that's through power cost or simply block size. Personally I'd make it a weapon effect. Hit the target and drain the drive charge. That means that interdicting escape pods is hard, but...

Actually, I was thinking the benefits would come from having full claim rather than just expanding area. With the initial claim the most resource-effective way to get FP is to scatter a bunch of tiny stations all over the place.

Would you agree that a two-block cannon should take twice the resources to fire using ammo as a one-block cannon? Anyway, the point is that there are practically an infinite number of ammo sizes, so it's probably best to just have one size and use more of it for bigger guns. Plus it's actually...

Only four sizes? You have no idea how this games goes, do you? Not enough flexibility.

I want to be able to turn creatures into NPCs. My ships will be crewed exclusively by uplifted tribbles! Also potentially the ability to play as something besides a human (or just an enhanced human) Very nice idea. I'm not sure the bit about "walking upright" is exactly how it would work, but...

A manifesto on the relationship between ships and stations

Heck, stations could use a whole series of config buffs. Higher power bonus caps, higher energy storage, higher shield capacity, possibly even increased weapon DPS. It's possible to put weapons on a station, even though they can't be aimed. That's something that should change.

New hp system breaks combat, doesn't "make it better"

Y'know what. You're right. Let's make it so that the block right at the center of the target marker is the only one that matters. No strategy, no need for armor, just point right at the marker and let'em rip. Computers are actually an excellent way to do critical points - they can be put...

      Questions on Engine Design

pulled the quotes from this thread. Actually, forget about the plain slices, this is better for the now flat glowy panel. See how on top of the flat glowy parts there's a frame that looks like a cross interrupted at the center with a circle? Put that on top of your central flat glowy panel...

      Questions on Engine Design

It's okay, but all that monotonous grid stuff really doesn't work so well. I'd go with splitting that section into 4 or 6 slices and using the ice backlighting technique. (TODO: get a link to it.) The floating rings, those will work well. Good depth. I might make the big one grey or white just...

I'd imagine that it would be more like 1 ammo per 1 damage, and you craft 2,000 ammo from one scrap.

So, as we know, there are some problems with the faction territory and FP system. First, it discourages claiming more territory. Second, claiming a system is easy to do but difficult for an enemy to counter. (because the claiming faction block can be anywhere.) FP (Faction Points) now come from...

Unless larger weapons need more ammo, I can see this getting unbalanced very quickly.

      Jumpdrive rework.

This is not the question you should be asking. You should be asking "How does this teleport affect the game? What kind of meta does it lead to?"
