its possible they removed that in favor of the sensor system. I've suggested before that there needs to be a simpler way to have sensors detect anything greater than 0.
Do you have a constant pulsing signal going into the sensor? For instance a logic clock connected to the sensor. you need one in order for it to sensor a change in something.

A damage buff is the most likely thing to happen. Schine seems dead set on keeping recoil. I think a large reason why ppl hate recoil is that its completely unavoidable and cant be mitigated in any way. If there was a way to counter it via ship design then I think it would be much better
Ever since Cannons were given the recoil effect they seemed more like an annoyance rather then a legit balancing mechanic. Seeing as how Schine is intent on keeping this the only way to fix this is to add something that can counteract it.
Thats why I think Repulsers should be given a recoil...

honestly im in favor of the star wars style ion effect. It could open up some interesting builds if there was a penalty for running out of power. Say the way you are left vulnerable for a few seconds after overheating in mechwarrior games.
Update! I done a little more research/experimenting and I've finally managed to discover how to add animations to models without blenders internal sketchfab exporter! This method also allows you to make edits to models with animations so you can add/removes parts of the model!
