The asteroids are immobile and cannot be interacted with.
Straight up better.
I never was sure about starmade skyboxes, I think it has something to do with how sectors are technically infinite.
Hard to say anything concrete, I imagine lighting is easier when most objects cannot be altered.
Wait so distance no longer matters and instead these beams matter... so if my distance is 0 nothing bad happens because distance doesn't matter and there will be essentially no beam... I think?
It does indeed, however radial also sounds fairly useless for anything BUT planets, also the reason it doesn't work on astronauts is because they aren't coded like other entities, however it would be a very simple and cheap vector calculation to make gravity work for astronauts on a sphere.
Conspiracy time:
The planet in the gif does appear one way or another to be curved, additionally the pre-release contains a radial gravity chamber, now radial gravity has never been in the game before, even current planets use a series of seperate plate gravities. These two things lead me to...
Wanting to build a good looking ship and sacrificing a large amount of performance are neccesarily the same thing. Even if its not for PVP I may still want it to have decent PVE capabilty without having to build a larger ship than the AI.
I feel like RP players are becomming some sort of boogyman, I see posts saying that new power limits creativity then in the same breath that RP builders will probably be fine with it. RP builders absoloutely do not want less creativity especially when it comes in the form of something that...
In response to your second paragraph I refer to the first pargaraph of yours I quoted. At no point can I remember any PVPers actively acting against RP players but what I do see is a lot of productive discussions ending up derailed into a circlejerk about stuff said by RP players did, a...
Ammendments will take the form of white-text.
This was going to be a long an detailed post about how all of you, and myself, are acting like fucking entitled idiots but I feel that we've had enough of those so I'm going to simplify it down into something that I'm sure everyone can finish...
For shield bubbles you could easily just draw it as a bilboard sprite and not have a collision mesh at all, simply decide that a collision has occured if the projectile has a distance to the centre of the reactor <= the radius of the bubble. With a spherical shield this would look and function...
