      Yeah, we have a little bit of this in there now, but its off by default. Shops have ranges for items, so if its turned on you could buy low sell high and just play trader between shops.

      Lol, it wasn't even that. It was more like "Okay, here's a nose cone, here's an engine, here's some compartments". There was no real "self built", more like "Pick a bunch of modules and squish them together". So it was somewhere between Star Trek Online's ship customization and Starmade.

      Was it Skywanderers or the other one that had the big combat video that had ships despawning because the game engine literally could not do combat yet? Lot of the Starmade clones look a little prettier because they're using nothing but premade parts and have no actual gameplay engines in them...

      Hmmmm... chambers are supposed to maintain their effect for a few minutes after being damaged to prevent expensive recalculations during combat. If you're seeing immediate, in-combat changes, that might be a bug.

      In my experience, Steam frequently "forgets" that you told it not to connect, not to update, etc. And next thing you know, its trying to update stuff you told it not to update. Steam is, bottom line, DRM in a dressed up wrapper. Any setting you make that would let you bypass it calling home...

      Well, now that you're off of Steam (a good move, I hate Steam with a burning passion): You can revert to any previous build that you want. At any time you can just select a build prior to a release you weren't fond of and just play on that for as long as you want.

      Funny, we're still here. The game is still receiving updates. And we're scheduled for beta and some ACTUAL ADVERTISING once that happens. And I know for a fact that the server list does not represent the entirety of the game, because I'm actively playing on a server that isn't listed.

      Off the top of my head: * Armor - All the various grades of hull blocks * Weapons - Modules and computers * Systems - Shields, power, stabilizer, etc * Decorative - Consoles, displays, lights, etc * Support - Bobby, rails, dockers, etc Aka, keep it relatively simple.

      Thats an idea. Run Enhancers like reactors, and have some kind of chamber system letting you modify how things work, and the chamber setup forcing you to build more specific factory lines. Got an armor factory over here, a weapons factory over there, a support systems factory in the back...

      Just saying, I actually am a professional programmer (I write business software), and literally the only thing stable means in regards to a program is that it executes without crashing.
