      Credits as an inventory item

Yup, we've been asking for this for a long time now. :)

make shortrange scanners discover systems like before temporarily

Honestly right now I consider it boarderline unplayable to start a new survival mode game due to the current state of scanning. You pretty much NEED a good solid distribution of asteroids in your home system to harvest everything you need to make stuff. And when you have no choice but to...

Universe Completely to Scale; Computer Requirements

Just running a couple of quick numbers here... The wiki says a galaxy is 8,589,934,592 sectors. I believe a galaxy is currently 8 systems tall, so divide that sector total by 8 and we get 1,073,741,824 for the number of sectors in a horizontal "slice" of the universe. Take the square root of...

      An Urgent Message to Schine

Hey, if I yelled it was at people to stop being asses. I never joined in on that "The devs are stoopid!" bandwagon, thank you very much.

      An Urgent Message to Schine

Yup. And when did he come to that conclusion? When the toxic people were banned and the yelling stopped. When he stopped feeling defensive and could step back and look at things objectively. Aka, when people stopped making him dig his heels in to constantly defend his decisions and gave him...

StarMade - PvP & PvE balance, Perspective & Direction

See? You present the problem calmly and don't resort to name calling, and actually give 'em time to mull things over, and stuff gets changed. The devs are listening. Only thing the ranting and the name calling does is make 'em dig their heels in and double down. :) That said, kudos on being...

Possible to fix "build mode cheat" now?

In my experience, it gets used a great deal to find weaknesses. I know I do it to look for things like faction blocks on pirate stations back in the day. Fly around inside the station until I found the block, then I'd know exactly where to hit the station to disable it with minimal effort.

      Communication

I like how you're missing the point. I don't do Discord because I have tons of bad experiences with programs like it, to the point the well has been poisoned. I don't *CARE* what else it can do, I don't care how it gets used here. I don't care if it is a rational viewpoint at this point or...

That requires me to install a voice chat program. No thanks. I would rather be out of the loop than have Discord installed. Call me crazy, but we have a front page for news. Its over here: https://starmadedock.net/ If no one can be bothered to update it properly, that is a separate issue.

      Communication

Because I hate the very concept of voice chat. I don't want to talk to anyone, I don't want to listen to anyone else talk. See this? This is the limit as to what I am willing to do in the way of communication, text based. I'll chat with somebody all day long over text in a game, but I will...

Well, that explains why I haven't seen any updates here. You couldn't PAY ME to use Discord.

Possible to fix "build mode cheat" now?

Some people call it a cheat, some don't, but lets be fair. You can go into Build Mode in a ship, then move your viewpoint over to another ship/station/whatever and fly right through it and see everything there is in it. However, the latest patch added something interesting. The build mode...

Disposable Fighter/Drone Production (aka Hangars instead of Shipyards)

What if it just ran completely off of scrap? I know I wouldn't mind if it just burned scrap, or even mesh/composite. We get so freaking much of that crap anyway, it would be NICE to have something to burn it on.

Well, what would you have them say? We know what they're working on, the Universe update. Do we really need bi-weekly "We're not dead. We're still doing the exact same thing we were 2 week ago. Nothing has changed, we have no updates at this time."? They'll report in when there's something...

Disposable Fighter/Drone Production (aka Hangars instead of Shipyards)

Okay, I've been playing a lot of Star Trek Online lately, and been having a lot of fun with my heavy escort carrier there. Little background before I get into this idea for Starmade: In STO, hangar pets are basically items you equip, and you have a hotbar button that lets you launch them...

Scale Thruster Plume to Total Thrust (and rotate them please)

Yeah, and I do happen to use that mod. I'd just like to see it in the base game because plumes are still way too short on large ships. And even then its not REALLY suitable since its still a fixed length plume. Its just better.

      Bland to Dynamic Survival

You can. AI difficulty level right now is literally only their accuracy rate. Since the same AI runs pirates, turrets, and homing missiles, the easier you make the difficulty, the worst all aiming is. If you want stuff to always hit, crank the difficulty up.

      My Semi Annual yawn.

They've already flat said this is happening. That Steam gives them so many free "bump your game back to the front page" tokens, and that they have used none of them to date because they actively DID NOT WANT an influx of players. Remember folks, we are still in alpha. As in, most games are...

Ideas on the Role of Crew

Personally I would like to see crew be the means through which more things are automated. As in, I want to be able to set up factories to create finished goods without having to set up a dozen different factories for individual steps. Instead of making factories that auto-queue, it would be...

      My Semi Annual yawn.

Precisely. And the new people are more likely to bring a fresh view to the table to figure out a real way to fix the underlying issue, instead of just yelling "Make it the way it used to be!" over and over again. It changed, its not changing back. New people will accept that this is the way...
