      Help with effects 2.0

Regarding Penetration - there definitely seems to be a calculation issue. It scales very strangely when you test identical setups with 100 blocks versus 1,000 blocks, 5,000 blocks and 10,000 blocks. I like the new range dynamic. I feel like missiles need even more, but it's hard to entirely...

      Economic Brainstorm

What about some improvement ideas for the shop interface? - Ability to adjust whole shop or group (general, ship, station, etc - as with pull groups) buy or sell prices with a single slider to a (integer rounded) percentage higher or lower than the current number. To make shops more accessible...

StarMade University - Data Collection and Revision

This is excellent advice, particularly under new systems. I actually saved (and then lost now need to restock) a bunch of bridge templates that made nice jump-off points for starting ships of various sizes because it's the first thing you always need. The way it's written, it may be helpful to...

      Why is Brierie so Popular

Definitely a thing - I deliberately stacked a server several years ago and it held great numbers for weeks afterward. It had great settings and had been there for months but never had more than 1-2 players. I invited a friend onto it plus multiboxed a second toon in to just sit at my HB and be a...

      Why is Brierie so Popular

Just curiosity. Because it should be replicated. To me, the fact that there are generally no mods, no chance for corruption, this is why I like Brierie. I hate the slow response and downtime, but I know I'm not alone because it has been super popular. Before 2.0 it was popular, after 2.0 it has...

      BP Spawn to Docking

So I finally used this to turret a BP... 12 PD turrets and 4 small capital turrets. Took like 2 minutes. Total game changer. More than half of my unfinished designs were unfinished mainly because the turret work was a completely overwhelming project that was way too easy to put off /...

Maximum possible Block-Bit usage possibility balance.

So you're a hedge mage? I had suspected something of the sort before from your posts. Chaos magick maybe? I assume that in German you tend towards poetic language as well (it ends up being confusing in English, but I can see the pattern). I like that you try to bring a bigger picture to the...

Maximum possible Block-Bit usage possibility balance.

I understand very well what limits computing power - the standard model's failure to identify anti-matter as a constituent sub-quantum element of everyday matter (instead attributing beta decay and inverse beta decay to ex nihilo creation and destruction that makes a mockery of thermodynamics)...

Will there be AI-Combat in unloaded sectors?

Neon, are you deliberately trying to derail the thread? personally I think we definitely need unloaded AI combat.

      More in-game block information

chambers are definitely on the wiki. I just looked them there a few days ago. I think it just needs proper organization and linking and the old articles shut down. I started to get into it last year, but all the top level pages are owned so you have to basically petition for changes to them.

      More in-game block information

Hey, something like this would probably be well suited to having a page on the wiki as well as being posted on the docks - particularly the slang terms and stuff. I started writing a starter guide for the wiki at one point, but not sure what the current state of it is. It's been somewhat updated...

Will there be AI-Combat in unloaded sectors?

It would. Likewise it would mean that some players would have special fleets and ships designed to confront those fleets and shred them.

Will there be AI-Combat in unloaded sectors?

Not sure, but I was also looking forward to this, and to unloaded fleet mining. I assume that once they get to a very stable weapons balance, they could update the whole "rating" system they put in for ships and base it off that somehow.

      Ship Dealers

And electric cars. One auto shop nearby had a battery catch fire overnight and do like $170K in damage by burning up a couple other cars and half of one of their bays.

Petition for Auto-Chargin Systems as DEFAULT

Interesting. I have also noticed apparently random situations where my jump drives autocharge. Fleets seem a likely cause - good observation.

Maximum possible Block-Bit usage possibility balance.

That was absolutely beautiful. But. Doesn't lag arise from the fact that processors cannot simultaneously process currents though and therefore events must be queued for processing; and the "the internet" and stuff?

      Ship Dealers

Since a shipyard already does this for ships, it seems very possible. So maybe we need a 'stationyard' then - exactly like shipyards, but can only be built on ships and can only build stations? Any of the above ideas would cover space stations. What about planetary facilities/features? Can we...

      Ship Dealers

So... Back to sales though... If we were selling ships through the Shop, would we handle stations the same? Browsing a list of docked entities for ships (or turrets) to sell is easy. How would stations be sold via Shop? Would you basically browse a list of all owned station entities? Would the...

      Ship Dealers

I think it's ideal. Players should station a defense fleet around important builds to prevent attack.
