      pirate stations need better turrets

Good, hopefully they fixed that problem. This was last week that I tried attacking a Pirate base. It was on the dev build of the new station update.

Am I the only one who can't find these new stations?

Rename your starmade folder to starmade-old or something and let the starter download a brand new version and see if that works.

      pirate stations need better turrets

The easiest solution would be to have the Pirate stations call for more reinforcements when attacked. Last time I played the Pirate station wouldn't call for reinforcements when hit by beam or missile weapons. They would only appear when hit by a cannon. I destroyed all turrets without...

Pirate Stations Everywhere! (AKA Steep learning curve)

I was able to set a faction module on a Station, which is critical for claiming the sector for the mining bonus, but I didn't try building a factory on the station. I agree a planet is the best idea for getting established, however how many new players will think to travel 30-40KM away from...

Pirate Stations Everywhere! (AKA Steep learning curve)

Yeah, usually pirate stations were fairly rare, but on my latest server 80% of the stations are pirates. I don't know if this is intentional or a bug.

Pirate Stations Everywhere! (AKA Steep learning curve)

So I started a brand new single player server today to see what new STEAM players would find and I ran into a couple problems/concerns. 1) I explored 10 different stations near spawn looking for a place to put a faction module and out of the 10 stations 8 were Pirate (Prate) Stations. That...

A discussion on economy: By the numbers!

I didn't look really close at the specs of the OP ship, but I agree that is too long for something like that. My intent was to state that we may not all be able to fly really large ships.

A discussion on economy: By the numbers!

Many players want to fly around in Capital ships and are upset they can't because it takes to long to build. Maybe Capital Ships will become exactly that: a CAPITAL ship (One large ship other smaller ships congregate around). Perhaps Capital Ships will become carriers that mainly carry other...

A discussion on economy: By the numbers!

Building large ships will require the efforts of many people. A framework will need to be established where others have an incentive to help supply resources for large projects. I think this is where shipyards will come into play as many players could deliver supplies to a common faction...

      Time for Tricorders

Yeah, maybe personal tricorders could have a limited range, but perhaps we could have ship based tricorders/scanners with longer range. Maybe the scanners we have now will include this functionality.

      Time for Tricorders

Now that gathering blocks through mining has become very important I think it is time we had a "meta-item" tricorder that can be purchased at shops. The tricorder can scan a whole planet, planet face, or asteroid and tell us its composition. EXAMPLE: Scanning asteroid 951 composition...

      StarMade 0.185 Blueprint Meta Items

OK, I went back and reread the news post and saw the part about weapons, Thanks! EDIT: I am still worried that the "Meta-items" for sale are not enough to encourage gathering large amounts of credits, however I have a great meta-item to buy with credits... FUEL !! Ha Ha!

      StarMade 0.185 Blueprint Meta Items

I am worried that this blueprint system will make credits and shops virtually worthless, here is why: 1) Everyone with any credits will immediately buy all the blocks they can afford in the shops and hoard them. 2) Nobody will sell blocks to shops since credits are useless. 3) This leaves most...

      StarMade 0.185 Blueprint Meta Items

I really think shipyards are the key here. If you don't want to collect blocks yourself leave it to a shipyard and watch as freighters from all over the galaxy start arriving with needed blocks. Each time a delivery is made the ship would slowly grow. Man, that would be awesome to watch a...

      Regarding the blueprint revamp...

I really think blocks need to come from SOMEWHERE, they shouldn't just pop into existence. I am sure this is the intent of this change. I do also think a mechanism needs to be in place so credits CAN be used to get the needed blocks and it is not up to the builder alone to find all the blocks...

      StarMade 0.185 Blueprint Meta Items

Here is a suggestion for a whole new gameplay style to grow out of this feature. If a player puts a blueprint in a shipyard the shipyard would quote a cost to the player. Then the shipyard could send out an announcement that it needs blocks. You could click on a shipyard in the map screen...

      StarMade 0.185 Blueprint Meta Items

It looks like you can get blueprints for free. I suggest charging a small amount of credits for each blueprint (depending on ship mass). (Kind of like buying real plans off the internet) The credits would go to the blueprint designer. This would allow good designers to make some credits from...

      StarMade 0.185 Blueprint Meta Items

I know this is good for encouraging factories and reducing gigantism but it feels like a step backward in economic theory. We are moving from an advanced currency based economy to a barter economy. How many people build their own car/house/fridge/anything from raw materials. Money was...

      Regarding the blueprint revamp...

Does it have to be blocks OR credits? How about a mixture of both? Supply as many blocks as you can, but if you don't have EVERY block, the shipyard will charge you DOUBLE or TRIPLE the local cost of the blocks that you still need. Consider it a convenience surcharge.
