      I'm not 100% sure i get what you are arguing for, so correct me if im goin down the wrong path on this, but...why not just use overdrive on your fighter weapons? In most cases they should have the surplus energy needed to use them

      I've tested extensively and it's already possible for a mid-sized fighter ship (200-500ish range) to do that what you're suggesting. It's called an Ion Pulse Missile! (good luck hitting anything with it)

      it can lock on like beam. its like a high alpha version of mis / beam but they're super slow. I think it naturally had a wider radius tha n the other missile types also.

      I personally switched back to the defaut speed limit because of it ratcheting up projectile speeds if you touch it - battles look a lot better visually imo when you can actually see what your shooting and what's being shot at. unfortunately, it is a bit too low. now me myself would like it if...

      Like homing missiles? No, they all still track you, but only Bobby can fire on you with a Jammer on. Jammers are pretty vital for any personally flown fighter though unless you like dying alot, as like someone earlier said, they reduce AI accuracy, which makes you very hard to hit in small ships

      There's no way to really quantify that since ship designs can wildly vary from player to player. But 6 1k mass ships, as long as they, are built to actually maneuver well and not like a brick can do a lot of damage to kill a ship that size..that's if they can get close enough to circumvent PD...
