      Remove Stabilizers

A ship that is condensed into a small space with the stabilizer system is a dumbbell ship. Because empty space is the most effective armor of all. If you can't get hit you can't take damage. By minimizing your profile you reduce the damage you can take. Realistically a dumbbell isn't even the...

Heat/Cooling as an alternative to stabilizers and reactor HP

I don't see why we couldn't have a combination system where the ship has a total SHP pool but individual systems also have their personal SHP. This could be expanded further with the SHP bar on your ship giving you a breakdown of how much of your SHP comes from where and giving you the...

Heat/Cooling as an alternative to stabilizers and reactor HP

Mostly I dislike using heat as the sole HP system because it doesn't directly correlate to block damage to the actual ship. All the stuff you listed about stealth being extremely dangerous because you can get overheated easily still applies to using a SHP system, it's just instead of instant...

Remove firing arcs. Add targeting enhancements.

Yeah, I agree at this point after Valiant's response. I think just lead indicator should be inherent, though. The lock on functions should really be chamber only. They aren't really necessary to land hits at 3, 5, 10, etc kilometers, they just make it easier.

Heat/Cooling as an alternative to stabilizers and reactor HP

This could work well. I think allowing armor to work as a heat sink is essential, as armor tanks will be taking more block damage than a shield tank will. Thus, they NEED the extra heat capacity and dissipation that some armor would give them. I see some risk of spaghetti but as long as the...

Remove firing arcs. Add targeting enhancements.

Oh no, not donut ships... we already had 2 weeks where donuts were the meta back when missiles and AI targeted center of mass rather than systems.

      Remove Stabilizers

I already explained to you in my post why dumbbells are one of the meta choices. Spaghetti was simply more meta than dumbbells. Spaghetti has already lost some serious effectiveness with the structure changes and this system will probably be tweaked more and more until the system as a whole...

      Remove Stabilizers

DUMBELLS: Stabilizers force you to have empty space, but this assumes you build a normal looking ship. So instead you build your stabilizers in a ball at the front and your reactor in a ball at the rear, and you put your systems in a tube between them with no empty space, because why would you...

      Remove Stabilizers

Stabilizers are an unnecessary mechanic that only exists to force empty space in ships, something that would be much better suited for interior requiring crew. The power system can function perfectly fine without them, and they add nothing positive to the game. They encourage people to build...

Aim lead and aim assist should be chambers in the scanner tree, not something automatic to every ship. These are powerful bonuses and should not be given free.

Additive Stabilizer Distance - The Simple Solution

Well, you claim it puts aesthetics minded players and PvP/PvE players on a more even playing field. This is demonstrably false as all this mechanic does is attempt to force empty space in a "traditional" style hull, which is ineffective as PvP players do not care about aesthetics, resulting in...

Additive Stabilizer Distance - The Simple Solution

Answer my question. What does forcing empty space through the power system add to the game? Why is this a feature we should want?

Additive Stabilizer Distance - The Simple Solution

That's an interesting way of saying "dimension based balancing," but yes, that is, unfortunately, what stabilizers are being used for, and what they are realistically only good for. Why is a "balance between reactor size and ship size" necessary? What does it accomplish? All it is good for is...

      Prerelease v0.200.250

We just don't want any one aesthetic choice to be more optimal than any other. People can't be forced to make good looking ships and they shouldn't be, but the game shouldn't be actively encouraging the construction of ugly ships. The old system, ironically, does a much better job of this than...

[Citation Needed] Congrats, you're learning the basics of spaghetti meta. Now turn all your other systems into 3x3 strands and make your ship a speed tank. No offense, but I think you're the one not putting thought into things. Where do you get the idea that putting your reactor at the front...

Additive Stabilizer Distance - The Simple Solution

Encouraging empty space for what end goal? Why do you want this? What does it add to the game?

      The Stabilizer Fix

Encouraging empty space is a bad and pointless mechanic. If you want an excuse for people to have interiors in their ships, push for crew, not a shitty, broken power system with this stupid stabilizer mechanic.

      The Stabilizer Fix

Because that isn't interesting. It's just a blob I need to wire to my reactors. Why do I need to do this? What does it add to the game? Because all it seems like you want is a half-baked justification for Star Trek ships.

      Prerelease v0.200.250

Are we talking about interior or external hull now? Interiors are comprised of decoratives and usually basic hull, which weigh next to nothing, and are mostly EMPTY SPACE, which weighs literally nothing. Your "theory" that ships with interiors are pushed towards armor tanks because otherwise it...

      The Stabilizer Fix

OR we can remove stabilizers entirely because they add nothing interesting to reactor design, or give them a function that isn't just "put some blobs of these in your ship somewhere" so they are interesting.
