      I can tell you haven't looked at the shields yet. There's absolutely nothing in the system to stop large ships from being entirely shielded, and, by the way, that's not really something you would want either. Ablative hull protecting shields is not a fun system to fight.

      The integrity system does a great job of removing Spaghetti ships, but it doesn't do much to fix Island ships or Dumbbell ships. And, again, weapons do not need buffed. They are already extremely strong.

      The speed cap is necessary to prevent combat from turning into a mess and to keep servers stable, as high speeds cause lots of desync, even if you do have large enough sector sizes to not be changing sector every couple of seconds.

      With proper balancing this sounds like it would be a really good solution to spaghetti that doesn't damage anything else. Especially if this was combined with something like flak or electrical chaining weapons.

      But maximum distance scales with reactor size, and conduits only have more resistance if they are too thin for the amount of power they are carrying. A properly designed big ship should have the same efficiency as one a tenth its size.

      Interesting and well worded idea. I don't think I would personally like it implemented though. It doesn't really fix the issue and you even pointed this out in your post. People can just build a big brick of armor on the front or rear of their ship and still have a system brick type vessel...

      But you need to put your systems somewhere. Hull mass is only increasing if you assume you only have hull. The space between the stabilizers and reactor is where all your chambers, shields, weapons, thrust, etc go.
