Some clarifying words on the recent moderation complaints

Advertisers are less likely to want to advertise on sites that aren't "family friendly." Well, minus advertisers who can't get their ads on "family friendly" sites, which we no longer allow. Because "family friendly." I don't really need a direct admission from Duke to put two and two together...

Some clarifying words on the recent moderation complaints

No it's not. Starmade does not have easy mechanics to learn, and politics and heavy player interaction are more difficult for younger players. Children may PLAY Starmade, but that does not mean it is a game FOR children. Much of the original player base (before the first Yogswarm) were adults or...

Some clarifying words on the recent moderation complaints

Unironically too long to read. Please take a lesson in writing concisely. I can't even tell what your argument is because it's so long and rambling.

      A knee jerk-reaction on knee jerk-reactions

Both of you are wrong Plenty of experienced PvP players were excited for power 2.0 but have since been extremely disappointed with how poorly it was balanced and implemented.

A case study in factions- The solution to everything (ENDED)

An invulnerable dock where players can dock without fear of being destroyed while they are offline. I can concede that safe harbors in TG space are a bad idea as the SOLE way for solo players to guard their stuff, and should mostly be for new players, but what did you think about the...

Are you being sarcastic? Because this is 100% accurate.

A case study in factions- The solution to everything (ENDED)

"Corporations" could be a way to do it. Maybe corporations can have "corporate headquarters claims" on individual planets or stations within a faction (something more like a "nation") territory and pay taxes on raw resources collected and credits earned during trades within the system. This...

A case study in factions- The solution to everything (ENDED)

Would you like to give an example of how a "creative builder" would bypass the restrictions I placed on ship size on public docks, and how they would restrict any player who isn't intentionally trying to cause grief? That solo faction has territory control of the system. Everyone else will...

A "rejected" idea that has since been implemented into the game. Yes, let's focus on what is currently in game and what additions Schine has confirmed, shall we? Those being invulnerable shops you can dock to (already implemented) and the TG HB/spawn station combo with public factories...

A case study in factions- The solution to everything (ENDED)

Oh no, the entities that already exist, just stored in deep space or on one man faction homebases, now moved to a shop! Truly a disaster for the stability of servers! Hardly an issue, especially with a soft limit in the form of exponential parking fees for more ships past the limit, or a even...

A Solution To Flying Spaghetti Monsters

At 500 blocks cubed, a total volume of 125,000,000 blocks, I could build a 1% density spaghetti ship that would still have 1,250,000 blocks. Your plan not only does not work, it also hurts players who are building normal ships. Many ships extend past 500 meters without being large in mass. The...

A case study in factions- The solution to everything (ENDED)

OH MY GOD, NO, NOT SHOP ENTITIES! The shop entities already exist. There are no extra entities being added by allowing the use of these shops and stations as safe harbors for new and factionless players. What point were you even trying to make here? A half dozen safe shops per system in TG...

A case study in factions- The solution to everything (ENDED)

I fail to see how this proposed system does anything to encourage faction expansion when all that does is give other factions targets to gain FP from you by nuking your pointless stations, for no benefit to yourself. The "future of warfare" I see is just people turtling, mining, and farming...

This would require an invisible bubble that you would render the damage effect on. It's still being calculated.

Your point being? You already have to penetrate 75% of their shields in the current system. There's no reason why protection should suddenly drop off at 25% shields, and if you can break through the first 75% you can break through the last 25%.

Are you being dense on purpose? By damaging the armor and turret structure until it falls off, the same as now.

You can still disable them after the shields are down. You don't have to blow up the whole ship to take them down.

Serious question, what benefits of docked hull am I missing besides the shield effect and the momentum effect canceling? Things like the massive debuff to EMP and some other bugs I can't remember off the top of my head have since been fixed. 100% shield sharing and fixing the momentum effect...

:catdone: This was already fixed, actually. Well, with the new system, 100% shield sharing wouldn't fix it, but it would with the old system. I disagree on being able to shoot turrets off early, since I think they should be treated as part of the main ship and not something extra just...
