My point is that a 100-block chain drive can have a net recharge rate (over multiple jumps) much faster than a jump drive with tens of thousands of jump blocks, thereby removing the penalty that putting a standard jump system would normally incur on a ship's performance.
IMHO charging jump...
Chain jump drive should be considered a separate issue. They are not an intentional feature and will probably be removed at some point as they take advantage of the fact that single module jump drives charge faster than large groups, thereby removing the intention of the devs for charge time to...
I'm not sure what prompted such childish outbursts from Lecic and Inquis, so I'll just post updates to the problems the chain drive is having here.
Here's the most recent incident with version 2 of the 3x3 chaindrive; there have been incidents with all recent versions but I do not have...
The AI as it is now is completely incompetent
-it doesn't take full advantage of the thrusters on a ship
-it doesn't fire any weapon at the max possible fire rate
-its only strategy is to get as far away as it can without getting out of weapons range, and travel in a slow circle around the...
The armor my ships usually end up at is around mass*200, but it's going to vary widely with hull type used, hull shape, and hull thickness.
I estimate your ship may be 150k mass when finished so that would put it at around 30 mil armor using this very rough calculation.
It only requires one charge of about 300 mil energy to fire the weapon once.
It will when it requires them to build a 2,100,000 block ship to destroy planets rather than a 210,000 block ship.
Do you have any compelling reasons for why planets should be so easily destroyed?
They are planets...
