Update on the job search: Just had a soul-crushing interview with IPsoft. They didn't do a very good job of making their job not sound boring as hell, and they acted like my mere presence was an inconvenience. so I'm a little grumpy and a lot tired. Haven't slept since the day before yesterday, so I'm going to sleep now.

At the moment there isn't all that much to report, aside from continuing progress on the new additions to the hull:

Aside from that, I'm digging the new look of my ship:

Hey boys and girls. Still banging away at the shaping, but she's starting to look less like a mess:

The new hull segments are being a bit trickier than I thought they'd be, but I'm slowly smoothing them into the rest of the vessel, whether they like it or not. Also started fixing the edges of the wing hangars, smoothing it out, etc. Still a good deal of Demo work to be done, and I've got to rejigger the docking/ejection ports for the aux generators, and more detailing to be done on the underside once I finishe the shell. But she's starting to look like a ship again. I find myself really liking the new profile of the ship, and feel so far I'm on the right track bringing that 'bolted on' (as orph put it) hangar into the rest of the vessel. :excite:

Update coming today. I've been working really hard on this shit. Also, hit the 7,000,000 block count, and it's looking like I'm going to blast right through that.

Ok guys. So I've been doing lots of job interviews the past few days, and been thoroughly disheartened, but I've been carrying on:

Progress has been slow, but I continue to work on the monolith.

OK Update time. So much of the last few days has seen me waking up at some ungodly hour filled to the brim with ideas, but without the energy to execute them. Most of my time has been soaked up with playing with concepts and ideas. However, I've started the agonizing process of bringing life to the bulbous mass that is the UnderHangar™. I found myself looking at jsem's 'platform' concept and thinking "What if I stacked them?" So I did.

I also have been playing with a few ideas for eyecandy and detailing on the stretch panels between the upper and lower pressure hulls, as seen below:

I also added the Nameplate back to a more visible position:

I've started adding turret hardpoints (color is incorrect, forgive me my followers) to the underside, as well as the first of several ports for the Orbital Structure Deployment System (OSDS):

And then what really struck me is how to solve the problem of my bridge being ugly as fuck. I haven't started building on it, but I'm pretty :excite: about it. It'll also cover up the most hideous mistake I ever made: DESE HOLES:

Basically, I'm going to create two 'arms' of the command deck on either side of the Command Hangar Launch Ramp, and extend two arms from the side of the Conning tower, integrating it with the rest of the ship.

I'm also redoing the big turrets again, because the current generation, while a marked improvement on past versions, is still fugly as hell.

Oh, and update on the job search: I've got a second round phone interview tomorrow with Rackspace, and an onsite interview wednesday with Charles Schwab, and a second round phone interview Soon™. (Sometime this week) with HP Cloud.

From a systems standpoint, I've also added another 10 million or so shield hitpoints and another 1m shield recharge... so no big changes there.

OK here's an update on progress:

Basically, I've been putting a lot of work into the thrusters, and the idea I mentioned.

But I also did some cleaning up of the wing hangars "While I was in the neighborhood".

Currently sitting at 7.7 million blocks, doing a lot of detail work and cleaning from all the chaos of the last few weeks.

    Expect more to come.
