Some refinement of the features based on spending some time with the older version in a MP server for a while. The shop is now set up for automated production lines (only mineral carving is implemented so far, but that's still nice to have on tap), and I've centralized the build block, owner respawn, shop, faction module, and station main cargo into a single central control room at the heart of the station.
I cleaned up the appearance a bit outside and in, though there's still a lot left to do. Much of the skinning has to wait on fine-tuning of the features I've been installing over time, so as the features continue to be filled out, the appearance will become cleaner.
I've decided to leave a lot of the interior open both to allow extensive customization by others and more importantly to accommodate quarters and other changes to the game. Interior design is not my strong suite and takes forever, plus the goal of this design as something any faction can spawn in to set up a dock & shop point somewhere makes me lean towards keeping it very open to modification and just focusing on installing good features and a clean general design.
I am considering retrofitting part of the way the docking arms work to install grav-tube on the main arms that juncture with vertical grav-lifts along the main tower to improve accessibility of the massive docking array without having to spawn a core every time. I have added 8 small shuttles/micro-utility ships on the inner ring of the upper docking plane.
Still haven't installed turrets (actually I did install point defense then removed it because it looked like crap and I need to come up with a better design).
The dome field has been also been set up to actually work as a fun little laser-tag field in MP :D
