Manticore-Persian Mythology
A ferocious creature that had the head of a man, the body of a lion and the tail of a scorpion. Some legends state that they also had mighty wings and could shoot the stingers from their tails like missiles.
The Manticore much like all of our Planetary Operations Vehicles has been laying dormant. Awaiting the cycle it could stride across the surface of a heavenly body. Well its time has come again.
The Mark II Manticore was designed to make use of the new repulse tech from Schemadyne. However our engineers have concluded from numerous tests that improvements to the repulsers need to be done on Schemadynes side before the Manticore's full potential can be unleashed. Until then the Manticore can very much slide its way across planets to take care of any ground based problems. The heavy Durga cannon in the turret has been replaced with Cannon based Atlas Cannon to prevent the projectile from being destroyed mid-air.
