The Defender class destroyers were built by Antron twenty years ago and after the development of shield tech. Antron decided to simply upgrade all their destroyers rather than designee new ones, as the designee was still considered top of the line.
The Defender class destroyers have two meters thick advanced armor, and over 50,000 shields. They are extremely fast capable of going about 220 m/s. Their armament consists of four rapid fire gauss cannons mounted in the bow, anti-ship missiles, anti-fighter missiles, four 5 in rail gun turrets, two missile pods, and fourteen 30 mm rail gun point defense turrets.
