What 3 features would you most like to see added to Starmade?

    Mine are, not including the obvious FTL travel, (in no particular order)
    1. Rotating Docking Ports. Seriously, it seems like something that would be rather simple to implement, and really useful. It's a pain to have to have all my hangars be forward-facing if I want to launch fighters, and the inability to rotate ports makes BSG-esque launch tubes all but impossible. Parking spots would look a lot neater for it too.
    2. Better physics stability-Right now, movement feels rather jittery, making it difficult to aim at a target, or dock at a moving carrier.
    3. Hull Buff-It's about time that hull becomes a viable defense, instead of purely aesthetic.

    Direction Thrusters; Would allow more differentiation and varieties of Ships, and Help with balancing various sized ships (Larger ships being Slower unless they devote more power to thrust)

    Lua Scripting; Would allow Custom Station spawning, and possibly lead to in-depth Pirate Spawning. As well as Quests and various other NPC dialog things (Various Server-side events maybe?).

    Turret AI; Its getting to the point where Turrets are almost Un-function-able, and even when they were they had various problems (i.e. Chain docking). I would like to see this Reworked completely with Accuracy changes and Turn rates.

    economical reason to engage combat , explore and possibly trade.

    Which probably means i want scarcity of things that are used to build ships or maintain base/ ships
    possibly fuel/ ammo.

    2. Aliens. Both types.

    EDIT: I really think you should have to post to be able to rep comments, I dont know if *I dont want to name drop* disagreed with the asteroid bases or the aliens...

    Basically what is planned as the next updates (the main points, expanded description is what i wish to see):

    1. Economy update
      • making mining a key job in becoming rich in resources and cash (a pacifist way of getting rich)
      • maybe getting rid of 5 lvls of each ore (it takes too much space in inventory)
      • scanning asteroids and planets
      • asteroid belts/fields
      • less abounding shops and stations in space, but with more resources in them (+ blueprint update for them)
      • limited stack/inventory size - leading to useful transport class ships
      • shipyards
    2. NPCs ( + faction update and Lua?)
      • missions!
      • campaign!
      • mission and campaign editor
      • crew on ships and stations
      • NPC factions
      • claiming sectors
      • faction points
      • more faction options
      • Lua scripts (i can't write them but maybe i'll learn this :) )
    3. FTL
      • beacon and ship based
      • slowing down the cruise speed of big ships to make fighters relatively fast
      • building beacons allowed only in claimed territories
      • + more details

    Isn't it interesting how most people voted for the third option? Keep voting much spaceship, everyone!

    As for what I want to see,

    1) The ability to create self-sustaining NPC systems, complete with lore, dialog, and interactions with other factions. I don't know Lua scripting yet, but I will learn it to create a NPC empire with a distributed intelligence because that would be AWESOME.

    2) My AI empire is going to be big, and so are its neighbors, and so I want some FTL. I don't even really mind how its implemented, I just want it.

    3) Finally, I want to be able to build ground vehicles. Once the planet-lag issue is sorted out, I'd like to make some pretty big planets, and set up warring empires on them. I want hovertanks, walkers, maybe some air vehicles that are limited to inside the atmosphere, whatever. Ground warfare is almost nonexistent right now. I want to send my army of crawlers down into a cave system after my enemies, or launch ATVs onto the surface of an Imperial Star Destroyer. Just imagine that. Imagine cruising in an ATV along the length of a Star Destroyer, RPG launcher in one hand, taking potshots at the turrets. I hope it made your day a little better.

    I also want lots of special effects and awesome looking explosions and engines and break-off effects and sound- but three things at a time.

    1. 3rd person view (SHUT UP ABOUT SHIFT SCROLL THAT IS NOT PROPER!!!)
    2. Randomly generated missions, such as assassination, escort or assist, but all the things around you, such as the guy giving you the mission or the enemy structures/ships you face are highly randomly generated.
    3. Reasons to have crew (not necessarily players, but also Daves)

    0 - The AI and systems to be fixed.
    1 - Docking dictated by mass (or center displacement) not core centered displacement .
    2 - FTL system.
    3 - Crafting not random but based off of a number of preset settings.
    4 - When an item is not in use, it does not consume energy. Factory inputs currently are active regardless if they are in use.

    1- More player maneuverability (like sprinting while in gravity and rocket boosting when not, crouching to 1 block high while also being like mine crafts crouch where it prevents you from falling off of ledges, and grappling hooks to get to and from things)

    2- More flight options (FTL and autopilot mostly)

    3- Quest system (can't wait to have a "investigate Ghost ship" missions)

    4- Physical Representations of actions while in astronaut mode
    (when we do something I wana see us do it. I imagine seeing our arm with that device attached raised when we have blocks selected. a holographic image of the currently selected block hovers over the device. when you break a block our arms extend forward to shoot that beam. when we equip our blasters we pull it out FPS style where it takes up the lower right corner of the screen. and finally when we put on our helmets the view changes to the view inside a helmet. the texture used would be different from the inside helmet texture in our skins so we can customize it to our liking)

    1 - More modding possibilities besides "look, look. I made a change in the config :3"
    2 - Make larger ships generally slower, and make them behave like actual heavy ships, instead of being an up-scaled fighter.
    3 - Give people something to fight for. (Essential materials, or valuable minerals. Not the ones which you can mass produce, no.)
