    Faction lore: The New Humanity

    -The Age of Discovery

100 years ago, a satellite detected an objet on the outskirts of our solar system, Gefängnis; soon after, the object disappeared. 10 years later, another satellite detected the same object, this time, under the mud of a great plain.

An expedition was sent, it was a massive starship. Buried in the mud.

Deep inside it’s database, was a single file that would change the course of our Lives Forever, on the file, was a single word more ancient than the names themselves, Earth, our home:

1000 years ago, our ancestors were brought to Gefangis in a massive ship, which was named “la Santa Maria”, curiously enough, along various other people to colonise the planet. But something went wrong, our engines stopped working, we were being attacked by someone or Something, we had to flee. Some made it, some didn’t. The survivors that made landfall found themselves isolated from the rest of the galaxy, without any way to call home, as all of the interstellar communication systems were aboard the wrecked ship. After further search we found a passenger list, surprisingly, the ship that brought us here wasn’t a colony ship, it was a prison ship, a social experiment to see how the prisoners wold react on a new world, restarting the civilisation from the ashes, we also found that the mysterious ship didn’t matched with any of the ship in the database . Of course, there was anything they would need on the scape pods, as well as some medical equipment along several survival manuals, As you can see, the experiment worked well, we even have a civilisation of our own!

-The age of Death and Hope:

But 10 years after the rediscovery of the prison ship, the same enemy we faced on the way to Gefängis returned, this time, as the most advanced civilisation on the galaxy, attracted like flys to a lightbulb by the fusion drive’s restart, they relentlessly attacked our villages, our cities, our world. We counter attacked, but our reverse-engineered weapons, taken from the Maria, along the materials, the subsystems, and the fusion reactor. But we couldn’t even scratch their shields, city after city, life after life. They were being token by our faceless enemy, and, yet again. We had to flee. Where? To the Stars, the lucky to escape soon encountered more unknown faces, this time, they were friendly ones. Can you guess it?

The friendly faces were the Trading Guild and the Outcast. Who helpfully helped our people, giving them a place to rest, work, and learn more than we could ever do with a wreckage, first as refugees, later, as citizens. Even the Trading Guild nor the Outcasts knew what Earth was or where to find it, they didn’t even know what our race was nor the faceless enemy we encountered. That could only mean one thing, Humaity went extinct, or has been hiding or we are far from their territory. Anyway, we are the only humans that have been left on the Galaxy, we are alone in the immensity. Plans started to build a massive colony ship that wold seek the rest of Humanity, among the stars. ( is it too mithycal?)

    -Age of... Something?

5 years ago, when the founder of the Varis Federation, Captain Markus, was a simple miner who salvaged for hire, he was hired by the Outcasts to go in a 5 month-long mining mission. One day, while he was salvaging a wreck, he found a mysterious storage crate. The contents of the crate were a videogame called “Homeworld” and some drawings, soon Markus fell in love with the game and it‘s designs, but that wasn’t all the crate contained. It contained pices of human culture, including songs, books, Databases, and some official reports, Probably it was a time capsule that someone threw into space in hopes that someone found it someday

Markus decided that the first thing he’ll design were going to be Fighters, and the first one of them will be the iconic Tiger Interceptor.

——The lore will continue as i build ships and I expand——
-Fighters 15-35m: Small, nimble little ships that find their strength in the numbers, as they are really small and only light weapons can hit them.
Interceptors: fighters meant to fight other fighters, they have mid-range dumb missiles that are able to hit their target within 2 sectors from lunch site, they also have a fast-shooting railgun for short range fighting. Standard size: 20-30m
Scouts: small fighters that can fight other fighters, but are specialized in scouting an area for enemies, resources, etc. and as such, they have light armor and only a small minigun, but they are the fastest fighter class. Standard size: 15-20m
Bombers: fighters designed with the purpose of inflicting damage to capital ships from a fighter platform, they are equipped with heavy plasma bomb technology, making them a serious threat to undefended frigates and carriers, but vulnerable to anti-fighter ships an weaponry.
    Standard size: 20-35m
Lancers: fighters that fight only corvettes, as their plasma lance is not very precise, just enough for their task, eliminate corvettes, they are still quite fast and powerful though, but ineffective against anything else than corvettes. it has a variant, often called "sniper" which instead of a plasma lance, has a long-range railgun.
    Standard size: 20-30m
-Corvettes 35-60m: Still small, but heavier and more armored than fighters, easier to hit though. They still really on numbers.
Light Corvettes: they are small, light, and cheap, though they are less everything than other corvettes, except speed and maneuverability, on which are the best on the corvette class, they are mainly used to hunt down fighters and patrol territory. Standard size: 35-45m
Repair Corvettes: they are corvettes that have a special ability, to repair ships, for this task they carry a modified PDA and light turret to defend itself, they have a docking port for fighters to resupply in the bottom, it also carries extra armor to protect itself and the fighter that carries.
    Standard size: 40-55m
Heavy Corvettes: these are the true badass of the Corvette-class, they carry heavy armor, anti-fighter/corvette weaponry and a missile pod for caps, they are not as fast as other corvettes though.
    Standard size: 40-60m
Multi-gun Corvettes: those pesky fighters overwhelm your corvettes? Though less armored then heavy corvettes, multi-gun corvettes are the solution, with their 6 turrets, they have proven highly effective against fighters. Standard size: 40-50m
Gauss/Pulsar Corvettes: these corvettes are optimized for capital ship combat, the Gauss corvette fires a heavy slug at 3% the speed of light (just heavy railguns), making them lethal for even the strongest capital ships, and pulsar corvettes fire a stream of ions at the same speed, though less powerful than the Gauss cannon, the pulsar cannon is more precise and can hit corvettes, making pulsar corvettes very effective at escort duties. Standard size: 35-50m
-Frigates 90-130m: the most modular and versatile ships in the fleet, they all carry heavy armor, making them hard to penetrate or destroy.
Assault Frigates: A very versatile ship, thus being the workhorse of the fleet, mainly due to its modularity, it can be equipped with long range torpedoes, an escort flotilla of fighters, a variety of missiles, more cargo space,... The chassis comes with a massive MAC gun (the big, BIG brother of the railgun), 4 medium turrets, a small hangar, 2 plasma bomb launchers and an array of AMS and anti-fighter turrets.
    Standard size: 90-110m
Support Frigate: A frigate designed to give a resupply point for fighter and corvettes near the battle, just like the repair corvette, comes with heavy armor and some defenses, including a MAC, it too carries a modified PDA to repair other ships, for this purpose it has an expanded hangar bay, a medical room and extra quarters.Standard size: 90-120m
Ion Frigate: just as the name implies, it’s a frigate fitted with a single, spinal mounted, massive ion cannon and little else, this is because of the massive size of the ion cannon, which the frigate hull barely supports, it carries an array of point-defense turrets, missile pods and some extra armor.
    Standard size: 130m
Command Frigate: a very special ship, it covers lots of roles, including attack coordination, ship capture/boarding and long-range torpedo assault, this ship is best suited for fleet support, though it can serve as a personnel carrier or as a freighter, due to it’s dependence on other ships, this ship should always carry an escort. Standard size: 90-120m
-Super Capital ships 250-500m:we enter in the realm of big, BIG ships, these giants carry super heavy armor, and very powerful weaponry.
Destroyers: With twice the length of a frigate, this Capital Ship is one of the biggest threats to any frigate or miner, these ships carry for themselves 2 ion cannons, an hangar, multiple light to medium point-defense turrets, multiple heavy missile pods, 1 super MAC and 2 heavy turrets make this class one of the most powerful ships ever built for the fleet, just behind the cruisers in terms of armor and weaponry, their hangar give them some space to save his escort. Standard size: 250-260m
Carrier: these massive starships have a construction PDA that enables them to repair any kind of ship up to frigates, making them the main objective of enemy ships due to it’d purpose, still, it’s well armored and defended by a full array of turrets and missile pods, that enable the carrier to hold on it’s own with entire waves of fighters and corvettes, it also has a resource drop-off point, 5 upgrade slots, 1 sensor slot and cargo space, including 2 emergency resource collectors. Standard size: 300-400m
Heavy cruiser: the second most powerful ship in the entire fleet it’s so massive that can carry ion canons on turret mounts, in conjunction with a small hangar with i’s fighters, 6 heavy MAC turrets, hundreds of missiles and 2 super MACs, it also carries 2 module slots for upgrades and one sensor slot.
    Standard size: 400-450m
Battlecruiser: the most powerful warship ever built by the Varis Federation, comes with even more weapons and armor than the heavy cruiser, it’s so massive that we had to design an specific shipyard to build it, and it’s so expansive that only a handful o fleets have one. It comes with more powerful ion canon turrets, larger railgun turrets and 3 super MAC guns, an array of pulsar turrets and point-defense turrets, an hangar, lots of heavy missile pods and 2 upgrade slots and 1 sensor slot. Standard size: 500m
Non-combat class 10-250m: these ships serve logistical support for the fleet, they are NOT meant for combat.
Resource Collectors: this ship is designed to harvest resources with it’s modified PDA from asteroids and debris, thy don’t have any weapons, they also have a repair PDA. Standard size: 110m
Resource Frigate: similar in size to frigates, this ship is designed to provide the resource collectors with a mobile drop-off point, it can also serve as a small freighter. Standard size: 120m
Freighter: sips meant to freight cargo across great distances, carries a bigger than usual cargo hold and carries the heaviest armor in the non-combat class, it also has some defensive turrets.
    Standard size: 220-250m

note: in hull tagging, i put the classification first and the class after. (except in fighters, where we don't need a classificator)

Build Diary: entry 0001. Progress on the "Panther" scout

Well, 2 days ago I started the "Panther", a small scout Fighter heavily inspired by Fiirkan ( a Homeworld ship, also Taiidan).
it's going quite well and I expect to post it in one or two weeks.
    here are some pics:
    upload_2019-10-29_18-36-1.png
( I found a way to take out the HUD (for those who don't know it, F1+g)
    upload_2019-10-29_18-37-49.png
I decided to standardize engines, this is a compact, less powerful version of the one in the tiger (thanks to josemik for the model)
    upload_2019-10-29_18-39-3.png
oh, I did a smaller cockpit, and I put a better positioned light, as it is a scout ( on the Tiger, i put it in a less luminous position so that is more difficult to aim to the core
    ).

If you expected a more complete craft, I'm sorry, but I spent the rest of the time doing some testing and playing with my crafts

Well, I'll let you decide, should I do this diary so you can see the progress on the ships? or I should stop it?

ill take that as a yes Thaddeus.... eventualy...

    That eventually is now!!

    Build Diary: entry 0002#

Wasn’t quite happy about the shape of the Tiger, so I decided to do a remodel, and some new systems, such as modules to add functionality to the ship or simply customise it. This is what i have done so far:
    1575056981535.png
-Added a new docking port in the side of the craft, those familiar with the ship will realise that the missile pod is not present, instead, there‘s a long stick crossing the port side of the ship (this is where i put the reactor, for those who didn’t know), and a giant hole in the reactor compartment.
    1575057206712.png
After some decoration, this is where the weapons and reactor oriented modules will go, while the propulsion ones will go just behind the engine, as some sort of plasma accelerators, kind of...
    1575057358190.png
The first of a looong series of modules, this one is oriented for reactor stuff, though it has some thrusters to move it around.
    1575057432734.png
The engine port. One thing more.

    1575057474256.png
    You would like more this...

    ...or this?

Sorry for the hiatus, i‘lol male sure it doesn’t happen again, here’s the things i’ve been working on all this time:
    6F783E8F-2D75-446E-943D-6AD6021589A7.jpeg
i present you the Kamerad-class utility pods, this is the Mining version landed using it‘s plex gear on
Zeta III, the new Homeworld of mankind, and, as you can see, still to be colonized.

    The Kamerad has variants:
    - The Mining variant, depicted in the album, comes with enhanced cargo space.

-The Repair variant, that comes with modified PDAs (Astrotech) specifically designed to repair other ships as well as some cargo to feed it with materials. It can also serve as an ambulance if needed.

-The Cargo variant, with actual weapons and a large cargo hold, this little and cheap ship can get small amounts of cargo from A to B very quickly, and safely also.

-The General variant, his variant comes with more crew capacity, it serves as an excellent group scape pod, holding up to 4 passengers an one pilot, it also comes with weapons to defend itself.

Unfortunately, any of these variants will be released onto the dock, at least not GEN1, but don’t worry, they’ll all come with my future Capital Ships, Frigate-class onwards, as support craft and scape pods.

yeah, most of my ships are heavily inspired by Homeworld and other sci-fi franchises (though less prominent), and thanks for the reply, I really appreciate that, can't believe yours was the first actual reply (aside from the Build Diary).

Next thing is going to be my first Medium-sized ship: a Resource Collector, which is currently being built, the planned specifications are:
    -80m overall length
    - 7m radius mining PDA array
    - capacity for 3 crewman (one pilot, two engineers), there would be 2 bunks but there would be sleep turns,
also, the ship could carry up to 4 people in total
-A Special docking pod designed to dock with Kamerad pods
    - And More features still to be planned or added to the designs

Build Diary: Entry 0004# Part 1

Have been unable to provide me with enough time to post this update (mainly because I forgot about it, sorry).
Well, anyways, I have done some progress in the Resource Collector's Interior, spent a long time on it, here you have what I have done:

    starmade-screenshot-0020.png
a pretty airlock with blinking lights...
    starmade-screenshot-0021.png
    ...some display logic and commands...
    starmade-screenshot-0022.png
    Let's move on, shall we?
    starmade-screenshot-0023.png
this is the current bridge, but we have plans to expand it with some side-wings
    starmade-screenshot-0025.png
this corridor connects the airlock, the bridge and the ramp that leads to the crew module
    starmade-screenshot-0026.png
The Corridor note: I spent like 2-3 hours on it
    starmade-screenshot-0002.png
The crew area, with a full kitchen net (not visible), 4 chairs, and some machinery in the back, the engineering access, is below the grate, if you wanted to know
    starmade-screenshot-0003.png
the crew's room, with it's own airlock (when it wasn't finished), toilet included
    starmade-screenshot-0027.png
the airlock itself (adapted for Kamerad-sized docking ports)
    starmade-screenshot-0029.png
    and the airlock from outside

WOW, it has been a long time since I posted any progress, well, anyways, I'm feeling fresh and lively to get in my tracks again, and hopefully be more consistent, again, sorry for the hiatus, anyways, there has been lots of changes for the Prospect-class:

    starmade-screenshot-0064.png
I've finally finished the interior, and now I´ve moved on to create the front part, where all the mining equipment and ores are stored.
Notice that the bridge is now bolted in top of the interior instead of hanging in space. starmade-screenshot-0062.png
here we can see it more clearly, as well as the elevator that connects it to the rest of the ship, below it you can also see the single Sturt (currently) that is keeping the front hull, as well as some of the interior armor. starmade-screenshot-0068.png
here we can see more of it, I'm very proud of how it turned out, it also fills an important part in protecting the relatively fragile interior, here in the main plain we can see the ammo and tools storage containers (from top to bottom), the ammo storage holds all the ammo necessary for the two AMS turrets in this section, as well as providing energy thanks to it's backup battery.
    starmade-screenshot-0067.png
This is the brand new Peashooter-class, sports a 500 mm rapid fire mass driver, controlled by AI, and with a full 360º mobility around it's axis. also, we can see both external deposits in front of the crew cabin, these will store the coolant for the plating once it's on place, these plates are special, because, as you can tell from the coolant thing, they have radiators installed, these are vital to keep the interior temperature to normal levels, as space can't conduct heat as air or water through convection and contact, so the only thing left is radiation, which is much slower and inefficient than the previous methods, that's why there has to be some sort of active cooling system.
    starmade-screenshot-0065.png
this is as of now, part of the superstructure that holds the front section together.

that's it for the exterior, we may have a look to the bridge, shall we?
    starmade-screenshot-0056.png
this is a view from the front of the bridge, right now we have two posts, the pilot (green HUD) and the communications and radar officer (Yellow HUD), we also have another set of consoles of the back Left, but right now there Is no specified use, maybe weapon systems.
    starmade-screenshot-0055.png
another view of the bridge, this time from the corridor, at right hand we have the elevator, more consoles opposite to it, and in the middle we see two buttons, Maintenance mode and bridge lock from left to right respectively, on the back we see the bridge screen, since it only has windows on the top for docking alignment, we have to use screen to display outside information, these are also safer because it means that we don't need an exposed bridge. starmade-screenshot-0054.png
finally, we have the USD airlock, which has an odd shape since we had to make it face in two directions, anyways, this is the result

    Well, that’s been going well…

can I be sued for false advertising for this?

Only if we can sue Schine for teasing the "Universe Update" then leaving us hanging for 3 years.

At this point I'm just glad that there's still some semblance of interest in this game.
