This turret is part of my industrial mining/refinery Titan.

Decided to build AMS turrets for my forever-WIP cruiser; I've spent enough time on it that it really needs to be "complete."

In terms of performance - they are pretty low profile (see below) and are 100% preferable to having no point defense system at all.

One option is to have a basic weapon turret (I'm using a 1-block cannon with stop effect.) and set the AI to target "selected". Dock your salvager array to the front of the turret barrel so that it blocks the cannon. That way, you won't accidentally a war...
