Just stay close enough like somewhere betwin the barrels ;)
You doesnt mount that turret on a ship, you mount the ship on that turret

At roughly 120 meters long, this ship has a respectable amount of firepower for its size via the use of up to 6 forward facing hard points. They're technically turrets, but are functionally more like railguns or the GAU8 avenger cannon. It's also reasonably maneuverable. I just might be able to sneak between the barrels of a 600 meter long turret and take a bite out of it

Then again, any ship big enough to mount a 600 meter long turret is likely to have more than just one...

I think I'll pass on that challenge.

Hmmm, maybe I should mount smaller turrets on the turret to fill in the blind spots...

Sure... What's another 50-80K mass anyway?

Then again, I suppose I could just stay the hell away from ships that size and snipe them from a ridiculous distance with a fleet of Lancers.

I'm not that great at turrets, but I've built this for a bigger project of mine. What you think? It's just an empty shell at the moment and I have a little more detailing I'd like to do. So this it so far. Hope it's worthy of this thread.
I'd make the blue cylinders bigger so that they touch each other. This way you'd need less hull and had more usable space.

I'd recommend adding detail to the bottom of the base. Maybe some hazard stripes near the edges and armour plating resting on top of the orange hull?

I tried to get the brass/copper look using the orange. Doesn't quite work completely, but it will do.

I have a bigger one in mind. I could do that with that one. There's also a smaller one that has the same look as this one, but the tanks just don't look right.

Why you people try always destroy good looking turrets because of stupid game mechanics.

The poles of the turretbase looks to fragile and to long I think. Add some joist's,that would help look them more stable.

    Hi,

My newest creation is a true monster and my most detailed turret so far.

The offical name for the cannon is Gravitron Plasma Accelerator because it use manipulated gravity forces to accelerate ionised compressed plasmabolts to nearly lightspeed. But thats a stupid long name for a callout in battles, so we just call it "Godspear Cannon".

More pics (seriously that thing is so large you need look here for details) :

yeah I did but before I do that I want to build the ship for the turret so I can set a good layout for AMS and AA defence. It need to look good for the entire ship not only for the turret.

I've been wanting to build a turret like this for a while but i suck at decorating turrets, the 2 side sections that extend along side the barrels are my favorite since it reminds me of a rail gun also it infuriates me to see someone say gravity forces because my physics teacher drilled into our heads that its not actually gravity its weight forces
