So..
There is a contest for building stations.
I have come up with a small idea that might come in handy for randomising stations.
At least the abandoned ones.

Therefore I decided to go straight to it and build something.
Some people have seen more than what I'm about to show, but I would like to save what else I have for later.
You will get to see it as I build more.

Now to the small thing I started to build.

As you can see this is still a work in progress. And so far I have only used one colour for the exterior hull.

So before I start to work on any extra modules I need to be done with the core module, that is make some more exterior details and make an interior.
But I need some more ideas for what each individual module is for.
I got a bit of help from the chat and so far I have these ideas for modules:

• Oxygen farm & normal farm
• Cafeteria
• Medical bay
• Hangar

I would appreciate if anyone can give me some more ideas for more modules.

And one I don't see often: Some kind of entertainment room, like a cinema or dance room made of plexlights.

Before you all call me out on the last one: if people were stationed out on a space station for months, years or even a lifetime it can be assumed that a sane and likeable corporation adds some kind of entertainment for days off/break.

I'd like to see your oxygen farm/garden, once you've completed it.

Only the big versions are going to have many modules.

Im not putting all the modules together before Im done with them all.

As I wrote in the contest thread.

This station design is based around modules and is supposed to be randomised. So that we will have no stations or very few that looks exactly like each other.

And for now Im just building the complete rooms and then "ruin" them later on.

I have been thinking a bit about the size of my station for the contest.
And Im starting to think that having the core of the station only to be about 150m tall is a bit too small.
So therefore I will rebuild it at least twice as big.

Im just hoping I can get at least half of what I have planned done :/
Its hard to built when you always run into a wall or got some real life stuff to do.

Perhaps a second color would be nice? I know, it looks all rusty in brown, but grey and black look pretty abandoned and wrecked too.

You really want more colours eh?
I will add them as soon as Im done with the basic hull.
Its easier for me to do it that way.

Perhaps for "realistic" damage, you could damage certain parts of the station with small weapons fire, like a 1 or 3-block AMC?

It is kinda hard to work in this heat. But Im doing my best.
I have currently two problems with this station project and that is, that Im a slow builder, and that I am going on a vacation soon.

but nonetheless here is the progress I have made when I have been in mood for building.

I think I will upload it when I am done with the main structure, just so that I actually have something to participate with in the contest.


About damage to the structure.
Im thinking I will, as suggested multiple times, use low damage weapons for some realistic damage
but I will probably also make some "homemade" damage to it.

I found out that I messed up the structure of the remake.
It is simply to "flat" compared to the small original.
So when I get in mood or simply get too bored, I will try to fix it via some copy pasting.

As you can see the big version is much more straight than the smaller one, which annoys me, I have to try and fix it somehow.
