• The outer rim is really far away; trading with most other people on the server is annoying, as is picking up recruits.
• I had no intention of leading the Imperium into a war with the Mortarians.
• Vaygr didn't seem to be doing anything.
• Getting mining space is a lot easier at the edge of the central disk than in the outer rim, and there's a lot more of it.

Also, our new frigate won't have to jump quite so far to get to what its blowing up.
