    Name : Lancer Kalashnikov

I wanted to edit my application before it was approved, but I didn't know how, so I'm putting my new stuff here.

    In Game Name : Lancer_Kalashnikov

    Race : Human

    Gender : M

    Age : 27 (36 counting cryostasis)

Brief Description : He is a bit taller than the average human, with sharp eyes, a chiseled jaw, and piercing blue eyes. He has black hair and is in good shape.

Brief History : Lancer was born thousands of lightyears away from the core, raised on Aquerius V, and was an outstanding pilot and officer. His ship was destroyed and his escape pod was rescued by traders after 9 years of stasis

Full History : Lancer was an average child growing up. He was smarter than average, and was valedictorian upon graduating high school. At age 18, 2 months after graduating, he attended the planet's officer's academy. Lancer graduated the academy at the top of his class, and was assigned to the small frigate Stork, and acted as co-commander of the ship. During a heated defensive battle, the main captain and pilot were both killed, and he took the helm and assumed command of the crew. Surprisingly, his piloting was above the skill level of the pilot's, despite never attending pilot school. His intuitive maneuvers and precise orders made the Stork the only sub-capital ship to survive the engagement. Lancer was rewarded with a medal for excellence and was transferred to command of the destroyer Stampede. He served for only a short while on that ship, as the flagship's captain died 4 months later of a heart disorder. Lancer was transferred to the flagship, the battlecruiser BC-07 "Lucky 7."
2 years later, another planetary navy laid siege to Aquerius V. The force consisted of the light carrier Hive and the destroyers Viper and Cobra. There were numerous accompanying frigates and corvettes. The Lucky 7 and 3 destroyers, plus a squadron of fighter-bombers, met them 1.82 AU from Aquerius V. Unbeknownst to Lancer, the enemy destroyers were equipped with new piercing cannons, and the Aquerian destroyers were destroyed in a matter of minutes. The point-defense turrets and interceptors of the enemy quickly finished the fighter-bombers. Lancer led the enemies within range of the planetary defense batteries, and the Viper was destroyed. The Cobra struck an engine exaust vent, causing a fire in the engine room. 2 minutes later, the engineers had all been killed by the fire, leavig it uncontrolled. 3 minutes after that, the ship violently erupted in a fireball due to a magazine and fuel ignition. Lancer was able to make it to an escape pod, but nobody else survived.
9 years after activating the cryogenic stasis, Lancer's escape pod was picked up by a passing trade vessel. When he asked for the coordinates of the location, they replied "0, 0, 3." Lancer's planet had been at 1109, 2204, 921, meaning that he had travelled thousands of lightyears in only 9 years. The only sensical explanation he can think of is being accelerated to near lightspeed by a supernova, past a black hole, causing the pod to exceed lightspeed and create an extreme time dilation effect, allowing him to have traveled so far so quickly. The trade crew had given him some basic supplies to help him get back on his feet, and dropped him off at 0, 0, 0. Lancer feels the best way to make a name for himself in the new land is to join the military. He wishes again to feel the exhilaration of a space battle.

I might be dumb, but I can't for the life of me find the whitelist application? Upon following the links it leads me to a "Welcome" page. I then read the rules and in the comments of the rules it says the white list is between the rules and the comments. I don't see it :0. Is this because I have to register with the site first or am I simply blind?

As far as I know you'll need to register first. This awful website is in the process of being replaced very soon.

Out of curiosity, what ship classification does the server use for slots?
Because most of the classifications that I'm used to would classify a 15k mass ship as a heavy destroyer or frigate, not a battlecruiser.

    Ah.
I'm more used to classification systems like the one below, because I spend a lot of time on the factions sub-forum.
    0.1 - 1k = Fighters/Bombers
    1k - 5k = Corvettes
    5k - 15k = Frigates/Destroyers
    15k - 60k = Cruisers/Battlecruisers
    60k+ = Battleships
Dreadnoughts are battleships that are too expensive to buy as a whole ship, and Titans are ships that are so monstrously large that they have to be built serverside.

Ours was copied and only slightly modified from one of the two popular systems (at the time) published on the original starmade forums. It is set in stone and is part of how we manage our server, both for anti-lag purposes and ship slot reservations. In addition, it lends some realism to the differences between ship sizes, strike craft should be small.
