I open the beta launcher, click on launch, click online, pick literally any server, and when the black screen comes up to load,

    >WAITING FOR CONNECTION...
    >Uploading Universe
    >Stopping Current Client

An that's it. Nothing happens, nothing loads up. I can get into my local universe just fine, but online just won't work.

I've tried over thirty times to uninstall it and load the file in a different place, and I get the exact same result. I have tried everything I know to do, and still, nothing. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong.

Please re-uplink. And make sure you enter an ingame name.

Looks like the error message about not being uplinked does not always trigger.
(The new main menu does not use the old saved uplink.)

So that got me to where the game starts to load, thank you for that. However now my intel drivers are out of date...
    ----------------
Upon trying to install new drivers my computer keeps failing to download the latest version for some reason, and without it I cannot play...
    So now what...

If the intel site does not offer an update and refers to your manufacturer, you have to download them from there.
(However this points to most likely specialized hardware, which may suffer from outdated drivers.)

So depending on your hardware you may not be able to play, however if you manage to get recent drivers you should be fine.
Also make sure you have 64bit Java installed. (Try the JDK if the game crashes on startup and you have a notebook.)

I don't quite understand, I've played Starmade for over 800 hours on this computer, the hardware should be more than sufficient.
I'm downloading JDK in hopes that'll work, although I have 64bit Java.
    ---------------
And same result. at 53% loaded the game complains about my drivers... I'm desperate here

Can you send/upload the log.txt.0 from your starmade directory?
Looks like its easier to examine the error directly instead of guessing. =)

My log.txt.0 is completely empty when I load it in notepad. I have a log.txt.1 through log.txt.5 however, and two log.txt without a number attached.

    This is my Graphicisinfo;
    Running on thread: main
    Adapter: igdumd64
    Driver Version: 9.17.10.4229
    Vendor: Intel
    OpenGL Version: 3.1.0 - Build 9.17.10.4229
    Renderer: Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000
    GLSL Ver: 1.40 - Intel Build 9.17.10.4229

I can post the entirety of one of the log.txt if you like

do not post the content ... just drag and drop the whole file into the post. just make sure to reanme it to .txt

and what is the exact version of your Intel CPU that is in use ?
    (it contains that HD3000 iGPU)

The log ends in mid of the loading process.

Okay, things that are confirmed to work properly:
    64bit Java,
    Intel HD 3000 OpenGL API

However the driver is dated "05th of June 2015", this is a possible cause for problems.
Is there an updated version available that does install?

Also if you have hardware that interacts with input/output devices not in use, please unplug it.
(AmBX Gaming lights for example are known to cause trouble)
So unplug everything except mouse and keyboard.

I'm using a laptop with only a mouse plugged in. Intel's most recent download isn't working either. My big question is why is there an issue with all this when I can play locally just fine? My graphics are processing correctly there. Why is online any different?
