This got me thinking. I want to see a shop system that would allow you to actually stock it with ships, and sell them with credits. Someone, somewhere still had to build the ships with the right materials, but give them an outlet to sell a full ship. While yes, technically you can do that if you're online at the same time as someone, I'd love to see something you can just set up, stock with ships, and have people visit and buy them even if you're not around.

I know this is good for encouraging factories and reducing gigantism but it feels like a step backward in economic theory. We are moving from an advanced currency based economy to a barter economy. How many people build their own car/house/fridge/anything from raw materials. Money was invented to allow people to specialize in different skills and not be forced to make all their own stuff.

So, we can now trade blueprints:eek:
    0% finish blueprint 10000credit
    50% finish blueprint 1000000credit
    100% finish blueprint 100000000credit
something like that ? it is great!!!!!!![DOUBLEPOST=1417468192,1417468029][/DOUBLEPOST]

it won't be the end for titan, it just makes titan even bigger, now without the max credit problem.
All you need is time to fill in the blueprint with lots of blocks.

With the amount of resources were gonna need it might be a good idea to have planets regenerate terrain (assuming they are not destroyed). It would add value to owning a system and real consequences for the actual destruction of a planet.

I am seeing this as the end of titans and the start of super titans. no longer limited by the credit cap!

In the past, titan will kill the server by just flying around, but after all those optimization,
now titan will only kill the server when it lands on a planet without docking. So, I think it's fine(for my server).

Btw, since the blueprints can keep the blocks in, i think people will secretly fill in a titan blueprint,
When there's a fight, spawn the titan to fight, after that, dismantle the ship again and save the blocks into a blueprint again.
To avoid being ban by spawning titian for killing server

Nah, you're probably going to need shipyards (likely, actually). Credits will now be useful for trading with other players, and in single player trading with the Trade Guild, so it seems like a fair system.

agreed, this is the 1st step towards shipyards. so tenk11kamikaza will probably ban those players who have a huge shipyard for titan up front? LOL

It looks like you can get blueprints for free. I suggest charging a small amount of credits for each blueprint (depending on ship mass). (Kind of like buying real plans off the internet) The credits would go to the blueprint designer. This would allow good designers to make some credits from their efforts.

That is good, unless the blueprint:
    • Has no known owner
    • Is your own blueprint

This is a step in the right direction.

-It allow ships to surpass the credit cap (if you happen to have millions upon millions of blocks on you, I suppose), potentially allowing groups of players to construct kilometer-long supertitans from a blueprint.

-It actually makes titans impressive centerpieces of a fleet -- a visual representation of a faction's blood, sweat and tears.

-It prevents people from using blueprints to spawn in resources that they're short on.

-It gives the game's economy a purpose.

Here is a suggestion for a whole new gameplay style to grow out of this feature. If a player puts a blueprint in a shipyard the shipyard would quote a cost to the player. Then the shipyard could send out an announcement that it needs blocks. You could click on a shipyard in the map screen and have it tell you what blocks it needs. The shipyard will pay more than regular shops. Players will race to finish blocks and be the first to deliver them to the shipyard to earn the larger price. This would be a great gameplay feature for those of us that aren't into combat as much. Also it would be good for player pirates because they would know where to go to look for incoming merchant players.

Ships wouldn't appear out of nothing, they would still need to be built from gathered blocks, but other people could help. This would give a use for credits and blocks.

The player who is having the ship built can bring his own blocks to help reduce the cost of building the ship

since blueprints are now an actual item in game, we could potentially have player shops selling fully assembled ships.

shipyards could act like a real shop where you would go to get a specific shipwrights designs as oppose to getting it from a trading guild shop

Shipyards will start looking like car dealer ships with show rooms and everything![DOUBLEPOST=1417478957,1417478841][/DOUBLEPOST]

i believe thats what faction points will be for.

schema said that players will be able to make our own missions. the way i see it this is like the contract system in EVE

really screws the game for players that just like to build and play occasionally as to spending all their time mining...

thumbs down - can't even showcase large ships on servers w/o a lot of mining
-stores need way more stock stuff (and in balance) like modules, shields and hull (not computer and dirt blocks) to counter this a bit

Should change it's name to SpaceMiner or some other cheesy name.
-it's becoming repetitive and more about mining than about building ships (the main thing it has going on Minecraft)

I can't be the only one who went on to the server and was like: "nope... not even going to try"
