I play on a multiplayer server, and every time I fight pirates I get the "Warning! You are running low on memory! " message, then the game begins to freeze and stutter. Usually there are about ten pirates, many of them firing missles, so, sure, there is a lot going on, but my graphic settings are pretty minimal and I think my comp ought to be able to handle this.

The message and stuttering persist, even after I have left the area with the pirates. Restarting the game is the only way I've found to resolve the issue.

I'm running 64bit java. I have 16gigs mem with 8gigs allocated to the game.

please add a log.txt.x file from when you have experienced this. use "uploada file" option.
and make sure you did set the memory in the fiest launcher properly ( better to check it twice ;) j

Thank you! I was not aware there were memory settings in the first launcher. I increased that and now the game runs smooth as glass.

Wow, two launchers, two memory settings. I have to say I researched this for a couple days and this is the first time someone mentioned mem settings in the first launcher.

check memory settings in first launcher
    Screenshot_1.jpg

set it to something like 2048 as max memory or multiple of that depending ion your available memory
if it isnt stating then ... make sure you are using a 64 bit java on 64 bit OS .. otherwise 1024 is max
