...so... what exactly does this do, then? The old SMEDit worked with old blueprints only, from January 14 or prior game versions. This version you made sounds like it does the exact same thing - it can't load or work with any newer blueprints. No?
This version of SMEDit works with the current version of the game, unlike the previous version.
Anyone can download the older version of the game, though. Old BPs will import into the new game.
I thank all of you for your support to this project. Please do not turn the thread into some sort of debate or flame war over wants and needs. Please take that into account when commenting as we do not need the thread to be a debate when it is only a hot fix offer to keep the application running on new game code.
This hot fix is simply so that players do not have to run 2 versions of the game on their computers to be able to run SMEdit. I am working on a completely new design and added feature version of this code and on this project; as Jo who made the original SMEdit has stopped his development of the project prier to the application being able to handle new blueprints or even new game source.
It is just as simple to make a folder in your main StarMade folder marked "old_blueprints" and just rename the folder to "blueprints" when working with blueprints on SMEdit rather than to run 2 codes of the game. This would allow you to not get confused on old blueprints you have and new blueprints. Also at this time running SMEdit and SMEdit_classic you need an understanding of the the ".josm" file location in your user folders of your computer.
To be honest in later version of the game your not going to want to keep using old blueprints, and in later versions of SMEdit2 it will not work with old blueprints only new blueprints. It would take to much to put in any kind of "if new then this, or if old then this" to the application to make it do both. (for the record schema makes the game convert the blueprint on use.) we wont at this time have that luxury. (maybe in later developments.)
Yes my first objective has been to clean up the code and clean up the abilities of the application, and I have been and am doing this to improve my understanding of what Jo has done to make this application in the first place.
Please do not bother to fuss at me or to complain about the need to have the application work with new blueprints. Believe me when I say that I already completely understand the situation and am working hard to insure that we get to the ability to work with new blueprints; as fast as we can.
I too offer the old last good version Jo made of the SMEdit application to run on old game source. I have it for download if you would rather run that

I keep it avalable for those who have problems getting it.
I guarantee that the version now offered as SMEdit_classic, as many can attest to, runs thousands times better do to the improvements I have already made to the application while learning the methods Jo used to make the original.
again I thank you all for your invested interest in the project and its continued ability to offer all it can to its users. I promise to get as much done and as much out there for users to enjoy as fast as I can. I will continue to clean up this application source and the "classic" version will always only be able to handle old blueprints. I am designing SMEdit2 to handle new blueprints.
