Resource producing station

    • The suggestion is:
    Types of stations that produce materials by using power.

    The Device on the stations:
    • The device looks like some sort of warp gate
    • requires massive amount of power to produce materials (maybe 1 billion)
    • The materials spawn within the device and can be mined
    • The materials spawn could be random
    • The device cannot be replicated
    • At random the Device could spawn some sort of enemy/enemies, maybe ships or fauna,(To surprise people and to force them away from the station)
    materials it could spawn:
    • just rocks
    • raw minerals
    • rare items
    • large asteroids (rock and raw minerals)
    • Hull
    The station themselves:
    • Huge capable of withstanding huge ships( maybe they could get some sort of buff)
    • Turrets capable of defending against attacks from fleets
    • Pretty much impossible to kill
    • Could possibly spawn ships or fauna out of the Device when attacked
    • Don't attack things that come out of the Device
    Relationship and other:
    • Hostile to all neutrals
    • friends to the trading guild
    • Can't be allied
    • Some of that stations could be inhabited by an NPC that can become your ally by trading guild missions. The NPC on the station control the turrets and attack all hostiles that come out the portal
    If you collect some rare items you can keep the Device open and travel through it to the unknown.
    Edit due to infinite resources:
    The station could have a limit on the amount times it spawn something. Maybe 1-5 every universe day.

    The solution to resource issues is not to go back towards infinite resources.

    I'd be more interested in a terraforming idea I expressed a few weeks ago on another thread, which I can't for the life of me.

    But no.. Honestly any station capable of producing something a quantity large enough to matter would take more resources and time to build than going out and finding an untapped planet then totally stripping it and nearby asteroids.

    I could see maybe crafting recipes that use tremendous amounts of power (like 100 million per cycle) and convert 100:1 from one resource to another but not out of thin air. And there would only be a limited number of those specific blocks allowed on a server so if you want one, you gotta fight/trade for it.

    I'd also like to be able to convert ingots back into capsules!
