A seemingly simple suggestion that has the potential to expand the newly expanded (and amazing) display block functionality. A way to transmit display block changes across entities.

This could be done in a similar manner to how the new display block adjacent to an activator works.

For example, you could place a display block next to a rail docker, the rail that docker is attached to receives the display signal from the docked entity and transplants it to a display block connected to the rail.

Functionally, this could be used for seeing what ships are docked on a certain rail. Great for large faction bases or carriers.

It sounds complicated, but obviously the Schine team could do it if they wished, because they're great.

EDIT: Added Lukwan's suggestion that we just be able to use wireless logic for this. But only if wireless logic becomes more reliable.

That works. Also, transmitting the text of the display via wireless could be cool. Just like a TV (Tell-Lie-Vision). Then you can broadcast to the whole base.

Display enhancing suggestions always have my vote as long as they're feasible and carry value, and this one does.

Yea I'd rather go with putting a wireless signal next to a display instead of that rail thingy.

    But great idea!

Well, his goal appears to be: Give each vessel an ID display block, linked to its rail. Then, when it docks, that can be transmitted though the rails system to be view somewhere else. I really like the idea, actually. With some trickery, it could be used to get status reports (AHP/SHP strength, even shield strength)

Yes, both options are useful in different ways. A contact link would act like a sensor trigger so that, for example, a text alert will display when a docking event happens.

Added using wireless to do this to the OP. That would be a way better solution, but only if they can work out the wonkiness that is wireless logic. That shit is still unreliable.
