I have noticed, it can be problematic to setup passive (Defense) effects on drones, and docked armor/shield plating. Although you can hookup wireless logic, in the case of drones, it can take ages. In the case of armor plates it may be less work but still feels (to me at least) a little cumbersome.
I would like to propose that when an entity activates a passive effect, that everything down the docking chain will activate the same effect.
Example 1: Mother ship has passive punch/pierce effects. When they are turned on, the docked armor then turns on its passive punch/pierce effect systems as well.
Example 2: Mother ship activates Ion Passive. All drones then activate their Ion passive. Mother ship then launches drones with passive ion still active, out to battle.
A player would have to include the passive effect systems they wish to use on docked entities on the mother ship. A player could simply use a computer and one module in order to activate the effect on their drones, or turrets or whatever. They would not have to have a 100% effect on the main ship to get the same effect on the docked ships.
