For the past 24 hours I have been plagued by constant crashes upon placement of display modules, with interspersed times where these crashes do not occur, and times where I cannot even load my character in on a server.

    Lets start from the beginning:
-This all started occurring when I went into a single player world, and all the ships were completely invisible, I left the world, and it froze, causing a crash, this led to corruption of that world...
-Now upon entering another SP world, I went to place a display block, as I was working on display module logic, and my game got its first NullPointer...
-Eventually I moved to a server and this continued, with occasions where I could place a few display blocks, then placing another crashed me.
-So far I have deleted and reinstalled the game completely about 5 times now, I have updated my graphics drivers, updated to the latest java 8 release (and set Starmade to use it, as I am on Steam), restarted my computer 4 times (one of the restarts included it being off for 4 hours), updated my OS, cleared my computers cache, and just about everything else I could think of, short of completely wiping my Harddrive.

My Comps Specs are as follows:

    i3-3120M 2.50GHz
    Intel HD 4000 Graphics (Driver's Version 15.33.43.4425)
    750 GB SSD
    8 GB Ram
    Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems
    JDK 8u102

    The crash log is below

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I do not know what is causing this issue, as I have done most everything for both game and computer side.

Did you verify you are in the lastest update? There was a hotfix. Yeah your logs say 20161008_002313, the latest is 0.199.253#20161011_173324

Your suplied Logfile claims you are not at latest Release build

This log is likely from after Designerman011 downgraded in an attempt to fix the issue. I can confirm his problem, being a witness to it on the NFD build server.

Can you supply a log file from the recent version then? Nullpointers are like symptoms not the actual problem itself.

That is the log from the lastest version, it was from the latest crash I had, after deleting and reinstalling the steam installation, could it possibly have something to do with Steam?

Possibly, you can download the from the site and and install as well. That might be a good next step.

Yeah, Ill try it outside of Steam when I get home, if it works that means something about the Steam download is messed up I would guess

It has come to my attention that Jake_Lancia has been suffering an almost identical crash. He is not running Starmade through Steam, and this is the last bit of his latest log with the crash:

Does this happen when you create a new single player world as well?

Upon creation no, occasionally it will crash when I'm placing and using display blocks, but SP seems to have less issues with the crash (can place more display blocks before it crashes)
[doublepost=1476826317,1476825232][/doublepost]Ok, SP is now getting the Crash Loop, now with an ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 64 However I tried this one on Steam, so its showing the last build version

Like I said, thats an issue with steam, version doesnt matter as both the regular release and the hotfix do it

The last posted log is from version:

    [2016-10-18 17:28:29] [VERSION] VERSION: 0.199.253
    [2016-10-18 17:28:29] [VERSION] BUILD: 20161008_002313

    This is not the hotfix.
    Its one version behind.
Please use the launcher to update to the latest version please.

I'm not at home currently, but Lancake has a log that IS the current version, from the standalone launcher, when I was trying to see if I could work out the issue, also, the second log I posted IS from the hotfix, as I have currently posted 3 logs on this thread

    ~Removed~

I found the correct log, the one with logstarmade.1.log is actually the latest, and has the bug that was fixed.

Well, I can confirm that the standalone launcher is launching the hotfix, as I made a point of checking the log version before I sent it to lancake last night, as far as the steam version, its been acting weirdly with the versions, I dont know if I can post the log I sent lancake from my phone, however Ill be home in about 30-45 minutes
[doublepost=1476891496,1476891286][/doublepost]But, something Ive noticed is when I launch through steam it does say "v0.199.253a" however is not actually running the hotfix unless I force update it, this is after a complete wipe of starmade from steam, then redownload
