    I started out with sound in the game and have made no changes. Everything else on my PC has sounds, but Starmade has fallen silent.

    I have cycled sound off/on several times and restarted the game. I have rebooted my PC numerous times. I have also cycled the OpenAL to no effect (currently off).

    The only things I've changed are a couple settings in the server config:
    1. I have increased the X/Y/Z for creating/copy/paste to 280 meters
    2. Turned off Friendly fire for missile

    I'm having a couple other issues as well:
    First-
    If I am not in my flagship and I order a fleet movement, the flagship shows up with no turrets. All of them are lost along the way. This has happened twice.

    Second-
    I attempted to repair my flagship at our shipyard yesterday. I selected the 'repair to original' specification. The shipyard deconstructed the ship, and upon reconstruction a number of blocks critical to completing the ship itself were assigned to the damaged turrets. My flagship had been partially combat effective, but this removed it from the battle completely. Is this how it's supposed to work?

    Thanks, and keep up the great work. It's appreciated.

    open the settings.cfg in an editor and check for those two lines

    S_SOUND_SYS_ENABLED = true
    S_SOUND_ENABLED = true //Sound

    might be that the sound system got disabled due to a problem in an earlier startup (first line. the second one is in the options menu)

    I don't see settings.cfg in the starmade folder, could it have a different name?

    No it has no different name.

    You may be looking into the wrong directory.

    Check there to get the correct path to look for the file named "settings.cfg".

    It will be there.

    May you create a screenshot of the files in that starmade directory?
    (Just to get an impression if only that file is missing or if possibly other files are not there and thus something with the write permissions in the directory may be wrong.)

    Here is the folder and sub folder (subfolder is scrolled down a bit so don't be wigged out by not seeing backups and such on the top of the folder list.) Am I blind? or is it just potentially named something else in my folder?
