So there I was minding my own business in sector 2,2,2. I was actually within the field of the trade station.

I was building the frame of a new ship, when suddenly I started spinning out of control. My ship health began dropping. I got notice that I'd been hit by a pulse. I got a warning that my shields weren't charging, I got a warning that my engines had failed. No enemies were evident on radar. When I ejected from the core, my new ship immediately disappeared.

I have no idea what just happened.

    Protected spawn?
    Single or multiplayer?

Default spawn settings (I never changed them). Single player. Radar was clear. There was no visible pulse effect.

yeah, I assume a logfile should work.

On single player I had some bad surprises,
default setting is: spawn is NOT protected
and it also uses any blueprint from your list as default enemies.

Yep, anytime I start a testing world and build one thing in it, and forget about starting protection and stuff I get shot down ^^°
(2 2 2 protection makes you lazy about defending yourself xD)

thats because the catalog.cat file is stored in the world folder rather than the BP folder. Which is just plain stupid.

Well then, I think I know what got me. A while back I attempted to make a space-whale that defended itself with shield drain and propelled itself by pulse. I don't recall cloaking the critter, but the attack pattern makes sense.

Actually, I wonder if I did hit a bug then. Yesterday I had a strange encounter where I ran into a sad fleet of Pirate base turrets. They couldn't maneuver. They didn't try to attack. I could see them, and they showed up on radar, but I couldn't damage them. I wonder if the client and server components are getting into disagreements about where AI ships actually exist.

yeah .. each world should get its own blueprint folder with seperate settings for permissions and stuff. i guess that can be easily adressed sometimes.

Even that feels silly. Why not just put the file in the correct folder, and have BP's shared across worlds? imo that makes most sense for single player

And if you want your 500 blueprints being enemy usable in ONE world, and not in the other, this would not be possible when having a "global catalog".

It would also prevent moving a server-world to single-player and the other way around without loosing all blueprint settings.
(As a trade-off you loose settings on blueprints when creating a new world.. obviously we cant have both sides ^^°)

if you want your blueprint settings, your going to want to move the blueprints aswell, otherwise its all abit redundant ;)

It happened again. this time I got a screen shot. The only ship in my library with a pulse does not have a cloak. Here have a screen shot: starmade-screenshot-0042.png

Note the lack of enemies in HUD

The HP of your ship is too low! It's below the damage threshold and is declared dead by the game. Pulses probably refer to the system debuffs that prevent people from just getting back into the core of the ship after it being destroyed (they are shown as icons at the top in build mode as well iirc).

Problem seems to be the HP not updating correctly as you add blocks, effectively lowering your current HP as you add blocks. If you save it as a Blueprint and load it, it should have full health and the issues should go away.

    Should have seen earlier.
This is an effect of the WIP ship-HP system.
Details about it should be made public as soon as all functions of it work.
(and we get briefed what exactly we should test for)

Actual HP should only be update to max HP when you reboot the station in structure menu.
Thus it MAY be possible to go too low with HP when adding blocks and never updating the actual to it, your "hp %" got really low possibly rouding to zero at some point.
But not sure to be honest.

Yup. I've reproduced the effect 4 times now.
