This is just a "Suggestion post" directed to the "Developers" on my opinion of what "I" would like in the game.
If "You" would like to "Add" to my idea's feel free to, if you have anything "Non Productive" to say and are just here to cause "Trouble", this Thread is no place for you.

Okay lets get started, I hope you enjoy my suggestions
In this suggestion Thread i will be including the following aspects:
1, Modular First Person Combat
2, Research Elements and Production Elements
3, Story-line Elements

First we are starting with (Story-line Elements)

Welcome to the Starmade Universe, The Universe where you wake up at the Center of the Galaxy
Inhabited by remnant's of two great Alliances, (GTG) Galactic Trading Guild and the (RPS) Rebellion Pirate Syndicate.
All that is left is the mindless AI ships, doing whatever they were programmed to do.
You as the player are curious on what happened to the galaxy exploring station to station to figure out what happened to the human race.
as you explore the universe all you find are automated trade routes being supplied by the Galactic Trading Guild and Hostile Factions and the occasional special shopping stations manned by an almost human looking Synthetic robotic humanoid

(Research and Production Elements)

As you scavenge through stations you find technologies based on the level of security on the station.
Hull = Basic starter hull
Standard Hull = Military Hull
Advanced Hull, Crystal = Prototype Hull
plus Weapon add-on blueprints ect
Basically you explore the galaxy, the more stations you find and explore the more blueprints you gather which allow you to Research them using Salvaged materials that allow you to mass produce these objects and products
The difficulty of the station could have FPS elements on it too such as Traps, Locked doors, Infestations, Diseases, Lack of Oxygen, Rogue AI
Other games have implemented these elements into their games very successfully such as.

Same as the Research and production elements stated above this section you could go out exploring stations finding bits and pieces you could attach onto your primary weapons making them unique to design, or best to your preferences when dealing with, well lets say an infested station filled well lets say someting like the Replicators from Star gate
If it was a robotic infestation id go with my Laser or E.M.P. based weapons, and if it was an organic based infestation id pop a flame propulsion based module on my weapon and napalm my opponents.
