In order to build manable turrets not haveing to deal with every possible angle the two axis can take it would be advantageous when you could by the activation of a module force a turret axis to turn it's docked entity into the default position and lock it at this defined angle as long as the logic signal is on high releasing the turret axis to turn freely when the signal turns off.

this way we could build one "walkway" to walk into the turret through the turret body into the turret barrel to get to it's core... if we would have to build for every possible angle we would have to build 360 walkways around both axis just to be able to reach shafts...

    Agreed on more logic functions.
In the meantime you could experiment with building your access corridors axially into the turret... provided of course the turrets are big enough. Also, creative core placing.

Make it a player defined default position. You jump in the barrel portion of turret position it how you want then click a "set default" button while in its build mode, then any logic signal locks it in that position and when signal off its free to move.

Examine this blueprint for methods of turret accessibility.
