Yeah some of the other textures while not squished always lined up weird. Very noticeable with hazard striped wedges.Please take slabs as an opportunity to fix the mapping issues. It would be a shame for them to be ruined by squished textures.

yeah, wedging things that are not meant to be wedged is dicey, as the rotation / orientation tends to fight with the "6 sides of the cube" definitions in the XML - what is "up / sides" vs. the orientation tend to fight with one another pretty hard, so wedges are only really viable as single-texture items at the moment.This doesn't really work (currently). I've tried it before and the results were buggy. Rotations and texture application would need to be changed for this to be a thing.

With the recent departure of some old staff members, certain projects and concepts got abandoned, delayed or will be taken back to the drawing board to be started fresh.
The terrain textures i was showing here in this thread were one of those projects.
Do you still have terrain / planet diversity planned?
Absolutely, yes. We do have plans for it and i will be making new concept art and textures for them. Just not now. As Bench has begun to explain in the dev' blogs and Q&A's the current focus is around Cargo, RP and Crew mechanics.

Dark Grey Hulls. Oh boy!
We now have (if we count basic hull as separate colour values) 8 colours spread across the grey-scale spectrum. Black has also been made darker and well... more black.
In other exciting news, i'm sure you have all seen the new hull slabs?
Hazards are getting slabs.
Doors are getting slabs.
Blast Doors are getting slabs.
Glass Doors are getting slabs.
Dark Grey Hulls are, of course, getting slabs.
All selectable in build modes from a single hull block. No crafting chains required. No cluttered inventory full of slabs. Woo!
This is fun, i have more things that i'm sure you'll love for the release after this too! Come Christmas holidays you'll have so many cool building options! :D
Yea. I can get behind bits of this. However, don't forget at that time everything had that metallic shine and a tendency to blow out colours in the faintest hints of sunlight. Overall, the lighting was not good. Overall the textures were not great.I was looking through some older screenshots lately (about the time we got shadows and the lighting overhaul) and noticed that I liked some colors better than what's currently in game. If I had to guess it is because the old colors were darker, more saturated, and had a more prominent metallic shine to them. It also looks like the first release iteration of the lighting overhaul made the game overall darker.
