JVM Crash when running Starmade?

So, I just downloaded Starmade and I haven't played it at all. When I run the launcher, it runs just fine until I hit start. Then the normal options menu comes up, but with an error message. It says

A JVM Crash has been detected

(if you have are already taken care fo the problem, you can ignore this message, and it won't show again).

Otherwise: This crash is most likely caused by a graphics card driver error.
I can't really do much myself to fix this kind of problem.

Updating your graphics card driver is the best change to solve the problem!

The problem is 99% on Intel cards. If you have an Intel card, plese try:
    http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect/graphics

if it still doesn't work you have to find & download the driver manually from intel.com,
since the update tool doesn't always supply the newest Version
I hope this information helps you

And thats it. Once I hit OK on the message, the options menu is still there, and I can edit all the settings and still hit OK. When I do, a black screen pops up for a second or two then goes away, and that's it. I have an NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT graphics card, and I updated the drivers and restarted my computer. The same thing happens.

I have also run the Starmade Checker, and I think everything checks out.

Graphics Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT ....PASS

    Help, please?

One of the best posts I've seen describing a problem, and it looks like you've tried a fair bit of stuff.

Try right clicking on Starmade starter and pressing run as administrator.

Check the programs list under control panel for multiple installs of java.

If you have only tried singleplayer so far, get a multiplayer IP from here http://starmade-servers.com/ and try that (leave the :4242 attached) I heard of a few people who couldn't play singleplayer.

Running it as administrator didn't change anything.
I didn't find any multiple Java installs.
I tried a few of those IPs and none of them worked. I even tried messing with the dedicated server and localhost options, none of it would get the game to run.

You should make sure to create a 'predictable' gamestate and send me your logs after trying a startup then. (See link in signature - how to report a bug)
Maybe there is something in it, giving a useful hint on, where it crashes.

Ok, I set up a predictable gamestate and sent you the logs. I hope they can help.

You are using the 32bit version of java,
    please install/update 64bit java manually,
as the annoying autoupdater ignores the 64bit-version most of the times.

In case you really have a 32bit OS:

Please try increasing the ram it can use in the launcher.
    Before clicking start (in launcher),
    go menubar,
    hit options and then
    memory settings

    Please try:
    Maxmemory: 1024
    Initial: 512
    Earlygen: 256

You set both max and initial to 512 (at least in the logs it looks that way).
I tried starting with 512/512 it works but takes ages to show up the launcher.

At least in the logs, there is no possible other reason for it.
It seems to lockup when starting the video system.

    Running on thread: ClientThread
    Adapter: nv4_disp
    Driver Version: 6.14.13.142
    Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation
    OpenGL Version: 3.3.0
    Renderer: GeForce 8800 GT/PCIe/SSE2
GLSL Ver: 3.30 NVIDIA via Cg compiler

    Nividia Page stated:
335.23 is latest, and 335.50 is latest beta.

You should try the beta driver, or the latest WHQL version.
Also try updating java please, as this seems to happen somewhere in the visual startup.

You need to get 64 bit java to use 1024 or more MB of memory. You can do almost everything with 1000mb though (the most stupidly big ships over 10 million blocks might need more).

If only Intel didn't recycle names every year so you don't know what you've got....

Try typing "dxdiag.exe" (no quotes) into your start menu search bar, run it and have a look in the display tab. You should find something like "intel HD graphics 4000" Tell us what yours says there, and we can tell you if you're able to run starmade.

With 32bit Java in a 32bit OS (WinXP Pro) I can max out the StarMade Max Memory to 1442mb. If I set it any higher it will not start the game.

Usually when I get a JVM crash it's because the videocard has overheated. I give the fan and the heatsink on the Nvidia 7950 gx2 a clean and away it goes without a problem until it's full of dust again and overheats. This isn't the machine I normally play on, but sometimes it gets used.
