The game is still being developed. It's not dead, it just needs someone to take the players in the right direction. The 2/3 of the players who only want to build awesome looking ships and then pilot them by themselves into fake scheduled battles can't keep interest in this game going for long. Game features won't keep it going either.
Did you SERIOUSLY just necro two-month old flame war thread?

Well, technically, he did no necroing. The previous last post was just under a month ago, so no necro.

However, this thread is a flame war, so please let it die.

Depends on the features. If faction system updates, combat balancing, quests, beneficial capture points/colonization system of some kind, and a progression system are implemented soon, then yes, interest in this game will go on. If things like hover-vehicle cores, black holes, personal transporters, and new logic blocks are implemented soon instead, then... not so much.

Many threads get infected with flame wars. It doesn't always negate interest in the topic, it's just annoying to those who want to hold a polite discussion.

My attempt at extinguishing the flames that fuel this war:

We all know that this game is very much alive and kicking, it just hasn't completely grown up yet. Schema is still going to implement moving parts, change the thruster mechanics, improve the universe generation, make factions different, add NPCs, add NPC quests. add creatures, add FTL, and a lot, lot more. So the answer to the question of this thread that was posted a while back is no, the game is not dead. It is very much alive.

This game is constantly beign updated, bugs are constantly being squashed, feautures improved, others balanced. The recent crafting system is proof that this game is not dead, and that it in fact is only just starting to get good. A few months from now a lot of new features will be in the game, and in the months or even years after that this game will continue to update, improve, balance and, most importantly,
amaze the players and prove that java games can, and should be, amazing.

That was dumb of me  at least I got the part about it being a bad idea (kinda) right.

Although, being from the ksp forums I've seen a MUCH worse incident. For those of you who want to know, heres the "short" version:

Basically, some parts where added and they might have been a bit overpowered, don't know because their price lead me to avoid using them. ANYWAY, there where at least 3 threads. all of them where flame wars.
the first was by somebody who didn't like ANYTHING about the update, the ARM part where just one of his main points
The second was about the ARM parts and the sillyness of the argument. Flame war, locked by request of the owner
The third was about how they where not s overpowered, you know what happened.

The important part was, it ended, and then, just when we thought it passed, somebody necroed the third thread. Moar flame wars, blah blah blah. The plague restruck, nightmares reignited.

Moral of the story: Don't necro' flame wars. Ever. They are a plague to any forum.

    Just

    let

    it

    DIE.

Flame wars are sad. You often see many good threads go to waste because of them. And no one person is ever fully to blame, because the other people who join are just as guilty.

The person who originally posted this thread had a valid question though, and I fell that me and others have answered it as best as possible. So I think that this thread is, well, not neccesary anymore. It would be nice if someone locked it.

PS: Anyone else dying from anticipation for the new updates? ;)

So this thread was being killed by a flamewar and now the flamewar is over and it's being killed by complaints about flamewars instead of discussing the threads topic.

The threads topic has been discussed to death. Unless you have something that hasn't already been discussed before, it isn't worth it. Just start up a new thread that doesn't have pages worth of flame wars if you REALLY want to talk about this.

That doesn't prove anything but that it is indeed... a fancy door opener that also can be a light switch. His point is that the logic system doesn't really do anything particularly unique and useful (the one current exception being the new docking integration. That's good.) :\
I told you to wait a bit and see what people create. You wouldn't listen.

Logic is love. Logic is life.
