I've haven't played Halo. My inspiration was more of the Star Trek variety... Although, I'm sure the concept is similar; big space gun, keeps big bad ships away.

I just added my Star Axis styling to it instead of Cardassian. In this model, the outer hull is the weapon; it rotates around a central spherical core which can float alone like a ship or be docked to a single station block with a basic rail on it. I must say; a google search reveals that the Halo version looks a lot cooler than what's on Star Trek.
You should play Halo some of the human designs are things you might want to look at if you ever do some more industrial style human ships.

Tempting but I kinda suck at first person shooters and I will NEVER buy an X-Box. Besides, I've already got a few industrial style ships lying around. They are way over due for a refit though.

Now whats wrong with an Xbox???
    Two things...
    1) Every single one of my friends had a stuck tray, red ring, "open tray" error or some other crazy issue.
    2) I work in technical support so I void warranties for a living. M$ frowns on this.

I don't hate on X-Box fans since theirs had the better games but I don't feel I should have to perform open heart surgery on a game console after 6 months. It boggles my mind how some of my friends could be on the 3rd-5th X-box and still be willing to buy another one when it breaks.

When Sega gave up on Dreamcast and most consoles after PS2 developed a nasty habit of trapping your game inside the DVD tray, I called it quits on consoles and switched to light PC gaming and emulators and haven't looked back.

I have an original xbox that still works 2 360s that still work (one was bought back when they first released) and an Xbox One and apart from some paint scratches from moving my Elite 360 they are in perfect condition. Your friends simply don't know how to not touch their consoles constantly ;)

More power to you. Not everyone can have bad luck but I know where my money is going.

I already have to use Windows if I want to play most games on the PC, and I have to use Windows at work. I sure as heck ain't using an Xbox, not with all the associated issues. And besides, a PS3 will play most PS2 and PS1 games, and that leaves just getting a PS4. You'd have to keep all your Xbox consoles to play all your older Xbox games since MS made the decision to not allow their newer consoles to support older games.

If you like Xbox, cool. :) But no amount of convincing will get me to use one. :P

Not true. 360 can play most original games and Xbone is getting an update soon that lets you play around 1,000 360 games on it.

No offense guys, but this is where I'm showcasing my ships. While I can appreciate your enthusiasm about console gaming, please don't hijack my thread for a "My console is better than yours" debate.

My sector got a little crowded so I decided to restart my game. Also, since I've received a few invitations to join multiplayer servers, I figured I'd better get used to making cools stuff without the help of my God-like administrator powers... Consider this a "training" exercise in salvage, crafting, and faction development.

In this game I'll be revisiting the origins of the Axis. Since this is the absolute beginning of my faction, we're roughing it; no fancy ships, no super weapons, no admin spawns...

Day one: Nexus Technologies and Volcov Industrial begin a joint terraforming operation on a red Mars-like planet. The time we spent on Mars and Jupiter's moon Callisto has prepared us for colonization of other worlds so this will be a textbook operation. Our hydrogen reactor (right) serves as both a power plant and an atmospheric processor. It also has a small refinery inside to process raw materials and scrap. We've also set up a small industrial complex nearby with a combined efficiency of 1040 units per production cycle. The large tower to the left is an automated logic controlled salvager turret. I use this to slowly clear/flatten the terrain and passively collect minerals while I build, mine and trade with local shops.

    Day 2

A mining operation was interrupted by a lone pirate fighter. The mining ship sustained a direct impact to the main salvager array from an unknown high energy burst weapon. Unarmed; the mining ship was forced to abort the mining operation and return to base.

Unknown fighter - Possibly (definitely) based on an F/A-37 Strega Fighter.
    Observed armament:
    - vulcan autocannons
    - focused energy burst weapon
    - regenerative shielding

Nexus and Volcov constructed a small assembly yard with help of allied company; Fairborne Naval Systems. Together, they created a small prototype fighter. Despite being armed with former generation weaponry, this craft was an effective first attempt at creating a military grade air/space-craft. Shortly after completion, the craft was launched. Its mission; seek and destroy the enemy fighter.

    Axis prototype starfighter: SF-1
    Armament:
    - high velocity rockets 320 damage per round x2
    - guided missiles 2400 damage per missile
    - gauss cannon 1530 damage per round
    - shield 2388

    Battle conclusion
It was a tough fight but the SF-1 emerged as the victor. One burst from the Strega clone's energy weapon overloaded the SF-1's shields. The SF-1 returned fire with guided missiles to take out the strega's shields. Inside 1000m, the Strega had the initial advantage; its advanced armor negated any damage received while its cannons cut through the SF1's light hull plating like paper. This required the SF-1 to keep outside of the Strega's cannon range.

Eventually, a lucky hit, knocked the the Strega's cannon system offline. The SF1 closed the distance where its superior speed and handling allowed it to easily dodge the Strega's plasma bursts, and pound it apart with its rockets and gauss cannon. Heavily damaged, the SF1 emerged victorious. Unfortunately, the Strega exploded before an arrest could be made or salvage operations performed. Preparations are underway to defend against any possible acts of retaliation...

    Escort Class

    Axis scout/light gunship.

I'm loving the aesthetics on this little guy but I have no idea how it will handle combat yet. On the plus side, it is highly maneuverable and has 4 medium auto-cannons (640/600 cannon/cannon) and 4 point defense units. This is a work in progress so We'll have to wait and see if it makes the cut.

[DOUBLEPOST=1446506233,1446505197][/DOUBLEPOST]A new industrial colony has been established on the planet Maximus Prime.

Mining is hard work but in the end, hard work usually pays off. This colony's manufacturing infrastructure yields large profits and allows for rapid expansion. Planned projects include dedicated medical and agricultural facilities as well as an orbital shipyard. Locals believe it won't be long before the Axis begins to develop a functional military; at which point it will begin diplomatic negotiations with neighboring factions...

So I built an orbital shipyard as part of my planet in order to extend my faction home protection to it. Unfortunately, anything that gets too close to it is subject to the effects of gravity up here. Then it hit me; I don't have a way to dock and enter the control center without falling...

So to remedy the situation, I have constructed additional pylons...
