    Actually, Drakkart, I'm talking about a showy deployment that may take some time, not a system that launches drones throughout a battle. This one launches all drones before a battle.
    I was +1 with you Madman, but if you re-read the rules the answer is hide inside :

    the function of the rack, it's purpose is purely to deploy the drones, fully functional carriers are appreciated but just know that they won't be able to assist your drones for they are going to get removed before the match starts
    So if I understand well, this time, the hostilities won't begin without both racks fully processed their deployments. In other words, with the actual rule there are (in theory) no time limit for rack deployment.
    But this rule poses a slight problem. At the moment, if I get it right, the system protection will be remove only when both rack threw their drones ; so if some drones have some automation logic-weapon system activated on launch they'll may suffer a disadvantage, specially with high reload time weapons.

    What about torpedoes ? Does they count as drones ?

    does their weight add, probably for the carrying drone gets heavier...
    could the rack fire them? once, free win for your opponent.

    Submission ends at the 1sr of august so 1.5 month from now, still enough time to build a rack to participate.

    Working on vessels to use...but I've gotta test them first. Mostly because they're TIE fighters, and due to a lack of internal space I've now got to up-armor them (Because no shields, dangit. I needed some actual thrust on those things).

    As for me, My drones are done but I'm trying to get my carrier built. If it gets within a few weeks and I'm not done, I will just slap together a small rack.

    I am hoping we get more submissions then last time though.

    Bump: Done with my first two drones, problem the devs have been messing with the mass counters again. I forget are we going by mass in the catalog or mass in Build Mode?

    In another post that was asked, and it was said mass in build mode. As if I recall the catalog mass is incorrect.

    Debating on if I should use Logic Weapons or AI weapons that are fixed for my 3rd drone. The general idea behind it is to make it use a pulse to run up at pointblank range and unload a storm of rounds from the docked AI weapons or logic weapons into the target. If AI weapons it'd get mean due to multi-targeting at far enough distances but up close it'd be deadly. Since we're all using drones here I shouldn't need to worry about the weapons not firing. :)

    Now onto the total Redesign of the Carrier Drone I had done since it didn't turn out right. Still have two drones done and one left. XD

    Use these commands if in single player or an admin on a server.

    /sector_chmod 2 2 2 + protected
    /sector_chmod 2 2 2 + peace

    Just replace the sector coords with whatever yours are you are building at. :) Or put up a lot of defense stations in the nearby sectors. XD

    OR do what I did, and make everything non spawn-able. Though the 2 commands seem way easier.

    From what I was told protected means no damage can be done within the sector and peace just prevents pirates from invading the sector. So technically you only need one of them :) The + sign turns it on and the - sign turns it off. :)

    Both is better if you have the tendency to accidentally test fire your drone's weapons when trying to dock it AND don't want pirates flying around waiting for you to leave the sector by mistake.

    Ever been holding a handgun and accidentally fire at your unshielded, just started ship-in-progress?
    Or been flying a drone and pulled the trigger while flying out/in/around your hangar?
