Perhaps the rest of the ships should be checked for similarities as well. Either to determine if there is indeed a pattern of replicated designs or if not to put the issue to bed.

I have to disagree, one non original ship design in a fleet should be a problem, since the rules sate the following:

We will not accept builds that represent vessels from other works of fiction. Please create something original.

I think he meant DQ this one either way but check the rest for potential copying as well.

Well, the offending ship should not be included, but we also need to check that there isn't other ships offending that rule as well. I'm not saying getting rid of all his submissions, just the offending ship/ships.

Well this is where we trust the playerbase to follow the rules. I can't say we would ever really know whether all submissions are original. There are fine lines when it comes to art and originality. I will discuss this with the team today and we will have an answer for you. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

That would be correct Mr Lecic. If true then it can be dealt with accordingly, if not then the issue is put to rest due to lack of evidence. In either case it will be resolved and we can move on to other things rather than remaining an open festering wound.

I think it's important to not have ships that could cause starmade to get into legal trouble with other companies, but still, it is a very well built ship and I'd love to see it in the game anyway.

It's very funny how I speculated "if it has appeared in the past in other games or movies...", when all along there was a forum post out there in the great unknown, created by someone also named Luke, with the title "My Favourite Spaceships in the World Aren't in Games, or Movies, but LEGO" :D xD

It's kinda getting me down honestly. I understand the inherent legal issues of plagiarism, and totally agree with those who want to ensure that material with that potential does not become part of this game.

In my opinion, however, such issues should be left to the Schine team to settle in a professional manner rather than the pseudo-lynch mob which seems to be developing in this thread.

Hey all, I've decided I had enough time on my hands and I've been making fleet reviews of the winners for when the round of voting happens. I had noticed some comments mentioning that it would be cool to have some reviews made. If anyone would like me to make a review of a fleet that did not get selected, just shoot me a message and I'd be more than happy to! I'm trying really hard to show off the good qualities of each ship and to provide constructive criticism. I may, depending on time, start to review the flight capabilities of ships, but with on average 4 ships per fleet, those would be some long videos.

My new channel is here, and I'd also love to get feedback from some of you on my videos, as I have just begun to try my hand at youtube.
