The weekly humble bundle is mostly meant for charity, getting the games is not the main intend there.
Here is the deal they offer:
Get a total of 89$ worth in games on a "pay what you want" base.
As you see, both charity parties get more than the individual games:

Pay what you want does not mean:
Pay literally nothing, but get all games.
Once the individual games go below 1$,
you only get a one time download,
for most games this is the demo-version,
in our case, its still the full game, as we do not have a special demo version right now.
However, you do not get a steam-key to get the full game on steam this way,
and thus cannot upgrade your registry account.
Our launcher is independent from steam, and you can upgrade your account, download and play the game, without even having a steam account.
Thus we are DRM free by any means, even further:
Once the launcher has finished creating the installation, you do not need any of our services at all to play the game or create a server.
If you are okay with keeping the version you can disable uplink and cut off the game from the internet and play with several thousand copies of the launcher made installation in your local network.
So in what way is this some type of DRM, if you can play and use the game infinite without any limitations forever?
Schine is aware of that.
And their (humblebundle) terms cover a minimum threshold that has to go to the game developers (that offer their work for charity and for no return in most cases).
So, if you meet that requirement you actually get a key to redeem on steam to get the full version (not the demo) and thus are able to upgrade your registry account.
