Well at the moment they need to be piloted in manually, but hey what are slaves for!
The torpedoes are packed with their explosive tips a few moments before lunch, this helps keep the ship from blowing up randomly (you can never truest a crew that’s 50% captured…)
This does add to the firing time but because of the nature of the torpedo, and how far they can be launched, it’s not much of a problem, by the time the target knows about its impending doom it will be too late.
We are thinking of adding a cloaking feature to the sanded HE torps, to help them from getting shot down on the final approach(the cloak won’t need to last long)
To be brutally honest this ship is not currently effective in its role and is best used for RP for the time being.
Though we believe as the game evolves,torpedoes will become a viable weapon.
Be it with bordering torpedoes that to help capture a vessel, or a leach type that latches on and drains a ship of energy crippling it!
Yes we see this as an amazing asset, maybe not in the current point in time but someday soon.
torpedoes will be the way to total domination, and the eclipse is a grate platform for them.
