I've been playing online and we're having issues with a reoccurring crash possibly related to my home sector. My home station has a lot of pipes on it's exterior. I'm just wondering if pipes are much more demanding on a server then regular blocks and if they could be a factor of the crashes?

AFAIK, they're more demanding for the client, NOT the server.
If the crashes are being caused by your home sector, I'd suspect rails, turrets, logic or AI before a block.

Thanks, I'll look elsewhere for an issue then. Great that I don't have to redesign all my base components.

To the server they are just a block id inside a chunk. The client is the one that decides when and how to render the lod objects.
