      updated my Dev build today and I will have to say you are right. Defiantly interesting the direction they are going with this. Looks like one may need to spread out your shields on the ship or face areas on larger ships that wont be shielded. Just glad the giant white sphere is gone:

      Config option to disable homebase protection altogether

      Why not instead of a "HB Protection = true/false" make it to "HB Protection ends = ####" where the # is the faction number in which you no longer have protection. This would remove the annoying 5k times you have to kill people to take out the home base and it would give new members time to start.
