Great idea! I too would like to see a ton of options added to display modules. For instance, I think it would be nice if one could link one to a camera and then see the camera view from the display module.
Planets definitely need work. Firstly, the gravity on current planets is terrible. That is the first step to be corrected to make planets better. I'm not sure the best way to do it, but I think the planet needs a center of gravity that pulls objects towards the core instead of this weird wonky...
This is true. I really do like the idea anyway. Like I said I'm leery about changing the shields, but that is mostly because I like being able to make impossible things. However, this idea would make sense in the game and would add a bit more realism to shields.
I think it should be a slider based on the number of modules connected to a computer, and like in the OP give the player an option to set it to a larger or smaller beam size based on the size of the cannon as a whole. Let it be adjustable in the cannon computer.
I like this idea better than the other thread. However, I am a tad bit leery of changing all together the way that current shields work. I think these ideas need to be revisited after we have better AI and empires in the game. Then maybe ideas like this one can be used as a means for balancing...

Personally I think it would be even better if all the AI factions could have their blueprints for randomly generated ships customized like they were trying to do with the pirates. That way you could import player made ships that you want for each of those factions. Also would be nice if server...
Nice idea. I am in full support of rounder planets. I do think they should develop a way to make the most round planets that they could at some point, but I understand they are very busy with the game.
