Ummm, I don't think the intention with the scripting system is to have some kind of per-player custom inter-server LUA modding API thing (that's nigh-impossible to control and manage...), it's just to allow players to create AI behaviours (For ship and crew AI) and stuff, and allow server...
Whoa. By Mata-Nui... I never thought that anyone would try to make gears in StarMade. Either way, that looks pretty neat, but how do those things not start jiggling all over the place, go into anti-stuck mode, and fall into the ground?
As it stands now, every galaxy, nearly every system and every planet, has each type of resource needed to survive and thrive in the world of StarMade. Plenty of each type of resource. With all resources plentiful and distributed equally, resource/item scarcity is usually only derived from player...
Yes, but there comes a point where the drawbacks stop mattering and the ships turn into a giant, laggy, hulking entry barrier that can completely stagnate the game because nobody can get rid of them.
...There is a balance to be achieved with this, though. I don't think many people want this to move out of alpha and suddenly become "it takes years just to get a 300-meter starship." All we need are more things to encourage people NOT to go over around 500,000 mass and we're good.
Not without locking me out of the game itself. I don't mean "Show on HUD," I mean actually keeping a small version of the full chat window on my screen while playing. Kind of like so:
(This was just a mockup made by resizing the current, overly large chat window. Playing with this setup is...
I feel the same, Korke. The features are nice, but it's not so awesome in the user experience and design department... I'd rather have a persistent window in the corner that has tabs for multiple channels, and doesn't disappear when you go back out of chat and into the game. Fade to...
I know that this is a suggestion and not really a question (and therefore doesn't really belong here) but would it be possible to get some kind of "remote core access console" along with the combat update? It can't be that hard to code, and I feel that it would help make building a lot less...
Shields blocking collision damage: Support; needed feature to make collision damage more practical.
Overheating shields? Eh, maybe.
Coloring shields? YES! YESYESYES 1000 TIMES YES. If there was an option for something other than hexagons (Maybe a solid-color wave effect or a grid of squares)...
Multiple jumpgates on stations work now, Vakna. You can now build transwarp gateways onto your unimatrices to your heart's content.
...More importantly, welcome back!
The capability isn't in game yet, but it could be done, I think...
...Yeah, I know, grasses use their orientation bits. However, if memory serves me, they have plenty of damage bits not being used...
Unless they plan on putting ores in dirt and leaves ( :P ) I don't see any issue here. They have a lot of empty data space; personally I'd like to see any free block data space in the game taken advantage of as much as is practical.
