No. Badges do 2 things, acknowledge community involvement, and perform as a kind of credentials when you post advice or assistance. A voted badge would do neither of these, and so many people would have it it would be 100% pointless. Not to mention the easiest one to get beyond buying the game.

No idea why they did it, it was never really mentioned, it was just fairly obvious by all images now coming from starmadedock.net/proxy :P

Someone at schine decided it would be a fun idea to have all images go through a proxy server hosted by them, and then be sent to you rather than just hotlinking like everyone else ever does, making everything slower and much less reliable.
