      Partially Randomly Generated Dungeons

But then, do the 'dungeons' really need to be procedurally generated? Why not just spice up the static content we have now (not the models, but the current way of placing objects in space) with random spawn locations and loot, if that's what makes exploration interesting? I think that was...

      How Fast Do You Go?

I prefer frictionless space and reserve the spoon for charging jumpdrives and firing salvagers. Also, default 75 does the trick for me. What's the point in doubling the speed limit, when at the same time you double the sector size so the universe doesn't feel awfully small, with the net gain of...

      Bug 100% crash solved

Sorry if I sound like a broken record, but this is the reason why I clamour for encryption of all channels between the user and everything Starmade related, be it forum, wiki, or downloader. Your ISP has NO business analysing and mucking with your traffic. Thank you for that illustrative example.

      Dodecahedron edge smoothing

I think "same direction" could be defined in this context as "not more than an angle of {n} degrees apart in any of the {ABC} planes" to solve that problem...

Make ships go kaboom instead of spawning

Why not remain indefinitely? I think there's no reason to have ships disappear completely from "overheating", so if they didn't blow up or aren't harvested immediately, they should still stay adrift, even if just as a reminder to future generations... Also I think all system modules should...

Recognized by Council QUICK WIN: One-click jump charge

I think the same goes for salvage beams... how often do you fire the salvager for a single cycle? Actually, that is probably true for most of the support systems. It's somewhat less annoying because you can trigger them with a clock circuit, but it would still be nice to have them instead...

      Partially Randomly Generated Dungeons

Not a bad idea in itself, but in the long run it's not that much better than static content... seen one, seen them all. Also, I figure it would be much more difficult to generate space ships and stations that are visually pleasing as well as not being an insult to logic, than underground...

      Best Reactor Type.

Provided of course this new power setup can fit within the space you allocated to your docked reactors, which may or may not be the case, especially if you have them docked internally...

Fixed [code=xml] tag syntax highlighting is unusable

What the title says... <tag>can you read the tag's name?</tag> vs. <tag>can you read the tag's name?</tag> vs. <tag>can you read the tag's name?</tag> (looks a bit unhealthy as well...) vs. <tag>can you read the tag's name?</tag>

      Computers and modules

If I had to guess I'd say by adding <InventoryGroup>unique_new_group_name_here</InventoryGroup> to the blocks' definitions in BlockConfig.xml

      Kupu's thread

I'm with you there. On the one hand, I actually integrate the light (mostly from power and shield capacitators) into my interior designs, on the other hand it's those blocks (along with logic blocks) that bleed through the hull if seen from a distance, which I find quite annoying to say the...

Implemented Weapon, Shield, and Effect config server-side

Thank you. This is very much what I found so far, too.

Implemented Weapon, Shield, and Effect config server-side

Is there a safe way to persist the modifications over game updates? AFAICT almost all the config .XMLs get overwritten on every update, and having to manually edit more than just one or two changes, and factoring in any new or modified entries, is tedious and most of all, error prone.

      Power usage bug

As far as I can tell, it's working as intended. If you completely discharge your capacitors, there is a short period where any further drain prevents recharging. Thus unless you release the trigger, power doesn't regenerate. In the case of AI, I guess you'll have to design the ship with a beefy...

      Background Music

I explained in length why I would prefer a game with no soundtrack, but good quality assurance, over a game with a soundtrack and a lot of bugs, like the way most of the games today are, sadly. If you are hearing hate, I'd suggest you start asking yourself where that is coming from. I could...

      Background Music

I guess the audio framework needs some love anyway, so yeah. As to the point of "good" music, see my previous post. Even if it is good in the sense of artistically well-made, showplay me the music that everyone agrees is "good"... A lot of games nowadays are first-person shooters... a lot of...

      Background Music

IMO it's a wasted dev effort, as nothing gets as annoying as quick as repetitive elevator background music. Not everyone likes ethereal "space" ambience, as much as not everyone likes a hard rock soundtrack to their universe. Do you think there is some music style that suits all? I sure don't...

      More stock ships

This, and also server operators can define which blueprint, if any, a new player gets (along with blocks, credits, and everything else), and whether it will be ready to spawn or have to have the blocks added first.

      More stock ships

Thank you, but I'm not sure if I read you correctly, you seem to be saying the exact opposite from what I posted...? Also I don't think the universe is very empty, quite the opposite in fact. Maybe there is still not enough variation, but there are too many stations everywhere, especially in...

      Kupu's thread

I'm aware of that, and adding toggles to the emissive blocks that don't have them was what I was trying to imply ; ) I understand however that those would add texture and possibly block ID overhead, and as such, aren't likely going to happen. EDIT: PS.: I don't know who is in charge of the item...
